I don't how you consider him #2 WW when he hasn't fought there in years. Beating two B level MWs doesn't warrant this either.
The same way I can consider Diego Sanchez the #3 LW in the world even though he hasn't beat a top 10 LW. The entire body of work and also how I think they are compared to the rest of the division. I don't agree with some of the dec losses he has. I think he could beat anyone a WW, I think he is that good. I am sorry, but I have no idea how he would beat GSP, Kos, and Fitch.

| *shrug* Chuck, Rampage, and to some degree Vera can bang pretty well.
Losing to Machida shouldn't knock Thiago Silva down much in the rankings, but beating a bunch of C-level promotion guys in Brazil + Houston Alexander shouldn't have had him ranked as highly as he was originally, IMO. I don't think he's underrated or overrated, but I think he's unproven.

| Alexander, Drwal and Irvin aren't really scrubs... I think he's easily a top-15 talent and most act as if he's crap after losing to Machida... | |

| Thiago was never ever impressive though with his demonstrated skill set. Poor defense, wide sloppy punching, slow speed, bad cardio. He was gassed or hurt in most of his fights in the UFC. Never the less, winning that many fights in the UFC before a loss is still impressive so I still think he has potential.
Babalu, Lil Nog, Tito are all LHWs that should be ranked higher.

I would agree with that. But he isnt really that underrated. All of us know Fitch's potential.

| Matt Hammil...always liked him and thought he would've won TUF if not for the injury for sure. He kinda did in my eyes considering he beat the fuck out of Bisping....that's how I see it anyways, but he gets no where near the treatment that the TUF winners have gotten. | |

I dunno about "no hype". He is constantly in higher profile matchups these days. He was suppose to fight Mike Swick at UFC 103 with the winner getting a title shot. Swick was injured, in stepped Daley and he had Martin's number that night. He was getting some pretty good hype at that point. He has since been building himself back up to that point. Even got another high profile fight with Shields his last fight. He has been given some opprotunites in the UFC , he just needs to take advantage of them. He is now the headline for VS 3 taking on Diego Sanchez. UFC has been giving him some pretty high profile fights IMO.

| Yeah the UFC does, its his personality that dosent allow his fan base to boom. You never hear from the guy he just fights, not saying thats bad but if he talked more he would be more well known....... oh boy im high hope that makes sense. | |

Yeah I see what you mean, he hasn't developed that big of a fan base despite being in headline fights. Some of the guys he has fought have decent fan bases though like Marquart, Shields and even Daley to an extent. I like Martin but a couple of times I just like the person he is fighting better.

Ummm....Fedor tapped out, how is that not a loss? This thread started in 2009. Someone decided to bring back an old thread instead of making a new one.

Yeah. It's annoying. I'm ok with bringing back old threads to show how crazy some people used to think, but just continuing a discussion because the topic is always relevent causes for confusion.
