| As for Maynard's boxing coach, while I am sure he has been at boxing gyms, like Randy also has, obviously they train that together too since their styles are A very similar and B Randy is his lead trainer and Gray is his star pupil who he cornered tonight.
I'd imagine they go to the same gyms. More MMA fighters should strap the gloves on and spar with real boxers. Does wonders for your hands.

- Ah ya the chargers. I haven't seen any of their games since early in the year so I don't know much about them this season. But I think matchup wise, the Colts are worse than the Chargers for sure, because I think they can shut off LT and the rest of the running game, and force Rivers who isn't as good as manning to throw to recievers who Revis will eat alive.
You wanna keep arguing on this head back to the jets thread tho, I just posted again. Revis can cover Vincent while Rivers picks them apart with Gates and Sproles.

| And relating to this thread...Gray didn't look very good against Diaz...Penn will dominate him easily. Honestly, the fight last night probably should've been a draw, no one did anything to seal the deal IMO. | |

| Some people saw Maynard dominate that fight, other people, like the guys at watchkalibrun, this Diaz might have been jobbed. Diaz was rocked by Maynard and dropped once at least. Pretty easy fight to score. Maynard had to over come a huge reach. I think his boxing looked good. | |

| neither fighter technically impressed me last night.
It was more about which fighter impressed me MORE?!
It was without a doubt Maynard. The fight was standing basically the whole 15 minutes. His boxing was more crisp and powerful, his head movement was pretty good, and he IMO landed alot more blows than Diaz did. Pretty easy score to have Maynard winning IMO.

I was rooting Nate, but I thought Gray won. I also agree that Maynard's hands looked pretty good. I figured Nate would have a big adv in the striking dept. Not so. All in all I thought Gray looked good. But Penn is great, and is actually improving. He'll destroy Gray. Will we see Penn held up against the fence for 3/4 of the fight like we saw from Flo? Maybe, but Penn will still easily win the fight. Gray is not as strong as GSP, and Penn is in way better shape now then when he fought GSP or Hughes.
