| I read that this morning. Not a shock. I'm an atheist and i don't agree with him at all really..but i hope Broussard does not get in any trouble with espn or wherever he works now. He articulated his position as respectfully as possible, he has a right to believe and express that and if they didnt want a devout christian answer they should not ask devout christians about the gay guy if they want everybody to conform to one answer.
I havent heard anything about him catching any heat for it, but i suspect if i look into it i'll find that he is.
EDIT: Just read ESPN is standing by him

| Yeah I agree with you Kings. The way he expressed his opinion was respectful. He didn't say the guy should be burnt. He said he can live his life but it doesn't mean he has to agree. He also said they still hang out and talk. |

They're allowed to have that opinion just like how you're allowed to have yours. |

| Theirs is retarded
Love how ESPN won't do anything about this but Rob Parker is immediately fired for asking if RGIII is a cornball brother lol. Must be worried some butthurt christians would be furious if he was fired for such a thing

| Just because you don't agree with it doesn't make it retarded. |

| nobody asked Rob Parker's opinion on RG3's blackness or whatever the fuck he went on about. He completely went rogue during an unrelated discussion. It didnt even appear he was trying to be funny. He was ripping the guy for his interracial relationship and because he didnt act black enough. I wouldnt say he should have been fired but clearly it's a different situation.
Broussard didnt hop on ESPN.com after Collins came out and write a scathing peice. He was brought in by his employers to come on outside the lines, a show he is frequently on the panel..where open discussion is the main point of the show. Not a show where everybody decides there is only one correct answer and everybody else should fuck off.
They asked Broussard about Jason Collins coming out of the closet. He said what he thinks without ripping into Collins. The lesson is don't solicit opinions if you can't handle answers. However, ESPN to this point proved they can handle diverse opinions to the topics they present on what is supposed to be a cutting edge program in the light of breaking news. Good for them. Broussard is a basketball analyst and he can go back to that. As usual, americans in general prove they can't handle opinions different from theirs, however they feel, while at the same time acting like they promote diversity.
As mentioned, i'm obviously not christian and i don't agree with Broussard's overall stance...but i don't have to agree with it. Above all else, i don't agree with special interest groups and this mob mentality to ruin somebody when they don't conform.

| Parker was talking about a race issue and how black men viewed RGIII. No surprise that was treated differently than someone speaking about religion. ESPN only handles diverse topics based on the backlash they will receive

Yes it is, humans beings have no place to judge and when they talk about things that other people do using phrases about how they are going to hell because of it or it's in rebellion to God they're idiots. Just the way things go

Just the way things go He didn't say Collins should be punished or kicked out of the NBA. He just said he doesn't agree with it. He also said Collins can live his life how he wants too. |

| the bible is a document written by man, just like the q'ran, the torah or any other religious scripture. whoever wrote it had no direct communication to god so there's no reasonable argument to suggest that gods will is contained within any of those texts, anyone who believes otherwise is therefore demonstrating some degree of retardation.
broussards comments were reasonable until the 'open rebellion to god' part, then he showed the retarded side of his nature.

You're showing retardation by stating where the Quran came from and by bringing it up in this convo as the Quran has nothing to do with this topic. |
