| 2 and half pages of posts and your first contribution to the discussion, the first mention of it in this discussion, is about the color of peoples skin. What a shock. | |

We just bought a min pin for my youngest daughter and I have to say that is by far the meanest little dog ever. I know I had a Pit snap on me but he wasn't just mean and attacking anything that moved like this new dog since day 1.

We have a customer who brings his poodle's into our store and they just run all about. Friendly as can be. Buddy had a poodle that was real cool too.

| Read some strange death facts and made me think of this thread.
You're more likely to get killed falling out of bed or by a falling coconut then you are by pit attacks, but just slightly less likely than vending machines.

| When I was a small child I was sitting in my front yard picking flowers for my mom. I got attacked from behind by a pitbull. Luckily my mom beat it off with a broom. My dad got his gun and went and followed the dog into some nearby woods. The dog ended up coming up to my dad acting all friendly and such so dad ended up not shooting it because he said it seemed like it was just someones pet not a crazy killer dog.
My parents called the pound and had the dog taken away. When the owners picked the dog up from the pound they were adamant there was NO WAY their dog would attack anyone. They claimed their dog was a good mannered dog who had never shown aggression to anyone.
My point is dogs are still animals and sometimes natural instinct can make them do violent things they wouldnt normally do 999 out of 1000 times. My attack is proof of that.
I hope all of you who raise your kids around pitbulls never have the misfortune of any kind of attack.

| Yeah you never know, dogs brains are weird when they are afraid or territorial.
The thing with pits is not so much the rate of their attacks but the results of their attacks.
Little dogs bite people way more, it is a fact. But the results of an attack by a Dachshund and big strong Terriers is an ocean of difference.
