My mom just always had an issue with the calf never being able to move. Kept in a cage it's who life so it can't develop any muscle. Don't know why but she hates the thought of it I guess. No desire? Thats a premium cut of meat man.. i can understand not wanting to pay for it.. but if someone cooked leg of lamb and gave it to you?
I think you should explore your taste more man .. not hatin' just sayin' .. try something whether you think its not for you or not.. and if it isn't spit it out no big deal.. that goes for everyone..
so you said you have only had fish fried.. what about any shell fish? I have had fried clams? I eat shrimp scampi, I guess that would be the closest? so no lobster? no crab? oysters? muscles? scallop? crawfish?
You have so much life to live OU! I had lobster for the 1st time last year. It was pretty good. I had it grilled, still haven't had one steamed. Not really a fan of crab legs, they aren't bad, just kind of sweet and not my kind of taste. No oysters, muscles, scallops or crawfish. But I did catch crawdads when I was younger. Just never ate them.

We have some great catfish places around here. Especially out on the Wildlife Refuge. Love it.

| well im gonna start with Trader Joes grass fed angus beef. Maybe make some burgers with it. Im sure the really good cuts of grass fed meat are very expensive and i don't really have room for half a cow in my freezer.
Also, if you are concerned about how the animal is treated before you eat it, veal is not the only thing you should be freaked out about. Any factory raised cows or chickens have horrible lives. Unless you are eating grass fed pasture raised beef that animal had a horrible existence. You don't even want to know how they kill them.
Same thing with farmed fish. Wild caught fish are at least free until they get killed. Farm fish are usually put in overcrowded small tanks and fed grain pellets and soy.
Im not a save the whales nut, but i think you have to feel for the animal to a certain extent. Zoo's are fucked up too. Seeing those chimps and gorillas locked up like that is sad.

I do like grass fed beef.. too expensive though.. If I made more money I would probably only eat Grass Fed.

It's delicious .. Its kind of funny to me saying Veal is inhumane but eating cow isn't. Have you ever had Lamb OU?

i don't fuck with eel though, creeps me out" Wow you really should give it a try brotha.. you said you didn't think you like sushi in general but liked it, so why would you stop there.. Eel is probably my favorite and have to have it
Do me a favor and when you go to a sushi place that serves Nigiri (not just rolls) and order Unagi and let me know what you thought..
Unagi is up there with the best single bite of food you can have IMO
I'll have to take your advice next time i go for sushi. Eel's are creepy though, just saying

| that is different than putting animals in a cage for people's entertainment. And it's not always successful because they take them from their original habitats and they won't mate. | |

| i also don't understand how people who eat meat are against hunting or say they could never kill an animal for food. | |

I'm just saying IMO there are some good done at zoos. Actually some are great and do some pretty cool things. I was reading the other day about these cheetahs or leapords can't remember which were so shy and scared that they have trouble mating in the wild and were in danger of becoming extinct. But they started putting these certain kind of dogs with the from an early age and they would become very protective of their cats and it allowed them to relax and mate more often. Really some cool stuff, the relationship between those dogs and the wild cats.
