Zuffa has gone to hell. Bones vs Sonnen to coach on TUF

Whether Cheap deserves the title shot or not, this is gonna be a must watch season for me. Roy and Carwin are just stupid and annoying. I guess I'm coming out of the closet with the ra y that I love the drama this show has had in the past.

It's just sad that TV entertainment is the primary reason for this fight. The UFC wanting to save it's baby(TUF) with "entertaining television" is allowing a guy that isn't even in the top 20 at LHW to get an immediate title shot coming off a loss at a lower weight. He is getting Randy Couture type treatment without having the HOF resume to back it up. Maybe if Kenny Florian runs his game on TV he can get the next LW title shot.

Myself, I go stupid and comatose for Roy and Carwin.

Obnoxious and annoying for Sonnen and Jones.

If this show was about decent upand coming prospects competing in a MMA tournament, I'd like watching it more. If I usually want drama I will watch actors, who are actually good at acting, not per-Modanna's and blowhards. I wish TUF would go away or only have one season a year instead of 5.

It's going into overkill now with having TUF for different countries.

Tuf is always lame so that's a nonstory.

Chael fighting for the LHW title is totally lame. but Jones will destroy Chael, so Im cool with that.

Moves like this only make Bellator look more legitimate. And those fights I can watch for free.

That fact does not change anything for me. Watching Chael get destroyed doesn't make up for what this fight does to the sport. It doesn't make up for the mindset of Zuffa. It doesn't even put a dent in my feelings toward this matchup. I'm still disgusted by the thought of it.

But +1 on this making Bellator and OneFC(Grand Prix format) look more legit.

I think this move makes Zuffa look dumb. I don't think it hurts the sport in any significant way.

When you have a yahoo front page article pointing out the obvious lack of logic surrounding the move that the majority of MMA community agrees with, it is not the kind of positive MMA should be looking for. And if it draws in people, in the end it does so not for MMA, but for characters who have shown them selves to often be something other than what is Typical of MMA fighters and not in positive ways.

I know the casuals are suppose to be excited over this. But the ones I have talked to immediately made the WWE comparisons and thought it made the UFC look less legit. But these same morons think Chael stands a chance in this fight. Casual fan for ya.

Agree, this is not a positive move, but does it really hurt MMA? Are casuals or periphery fans looking at this and thinking that MMA is now not a real sport? Sure people might point to WWE, but we all know, in the ring, it's real deal. People know that.

IMO the only people who this will make a significant negative impression on are hardcore fans who know that this is a completely unwarranted title fight. And those fans know this is dumb move zuffa, but don't let it affect their views on the sport in general.

If it creates a perception not representative of reality, then it could be a detriment when expectations are unrealized.

Yeah, they don't have it exactly or are omitting a part after Jones first quote. Sonnen said something if I recall like, "what you need to understand...., ....... nevermind."

It was kinda shocking he was silent. Was gonna post about with some of that other commentary, but I was afraid someone might falsely label me a hater.

I think he wants to not say anything there to make a play at Jones character in the future, that Jones would make fun of a disability or something like that. It was asked of Sonnen if the trash talk can be taken to far and he had a certain way of answering yes, it can.

I'm warming up to this fight and it will be more competitive then i first thought it would. Any guy that punished spider like shell did isn't gonna be a walk in the park. We did have to endure a joke of a main event with bonnar, so this should be much better. Trying to gain more national attention in tuf with shell vs bones was a good business move and its gonna be an awesome season. I honestly can't wait.

no way in hell chael wins that fight.............I would pick rashad, machida, maybe even rua to beat chael. Chael wont ko or tko him by all means and I doubt to see chael sub jones or go 5 rounds. Hell forest was going to triangle him again had they fought.

Those 9 guys have been finished a combined 14 times in 252 fights, which is 5.555555%. I'm not saying he couldn't have tried harder to finish them, but some of those guys are extremely tough to put down.

and as much as I hate jones this task is as hard as they come for chael. Me personally I give chael the least chance of finishing bones out of all the ex champs bones has faced. Only thing chael brings is wrestling and jones will stuff it. Shad couldnt do it so I doubt chael does

Even though I know this is not cereal, I feel it warrants a very cereal response.

Bell rings, Sonnen charges in and throws 3 winger punches (they are really secretly punches to disguise his double leg attempt), and surprise, he shoots for a surprise double, but the surprise van is on him, Sonnen is guillotine choked, bell rings fight over, myth busted, and the internet goes crazy. The absolute worst style match up of 2013.
