Martin Kampmann 2-0 with wins over Jake Ellenberger(KO of the Night) & Thiago Alves(Sub of the Night). Both very exciting and entertaining, but also BIG wins. Jake was top 5 & Thiago is still top 15ish.
Any arguments?

Depending on how Weidman and or Boetsch look later this month. Otherwise Kampmann would have to be the logical choice, assuming they both lose.

Half the year is already over so those fights wouldn't count.

At the half way point in the year, I am forced to take your side.

Hawn and Werdum also have done well this year without getting their asses kicked and having to comeback to win.
1. Martin Kampmann 769 (39.6%) 2. Ronda Rousey 312 (16.1%) 3. Matt Brown 290 (14.9 %)

I'll through Nick Newell in here. The 8-0 congenital amputation fighter is 2-0 this year and next expects to fight Eric Reynolds for the XFC Light Heavyweight title. If he wins it, Nick will, for me, warrant serious consideration.

Little typo there, I think you mean Lightweight title. Nick is a little guy. I have seen his last 3 fights, gotta love the story. I want to see him step up in competition. Definitely a fun story to follow.

Right LW, typo. I think Eric Reynolds is a pretty decent step up. 15-5 in a five year career thus far. He made it past 10 minutes with both Gamebred and Eddie Alvarez in Bellator. Relatively speaking, it will be that significant step up you're talking about.

But that brings up someone for me, in terms of most entertaining fighter to watch fight this year. Fransico Rivera. His 2 KOs were a thing of beauty and he has a UD win sandwiched between them.

His last 2 KOs were a work of art. I'm becoming a fan very fast. Also, yes you are right. Nick's next opponent will be the step up he needs. Hope he passes the test.
