Fighter of the year so far?

I have Donald Cerrone and Jon Jones in the top two.

Well they have to be the obvious front runners. Cowboy is 4-0 in the UFC this year with a chance to go 5-0 before the year is over. But Jones has the edge in quality wins over Bader, Shogun and Rampage.

Nick Diaz 3-0 in 2011, 2 title defenses, would have had 3 stoppages had the BJ fight been a 5 rounder. Still dominate performances in every fight.

Then you have Diaz & Cowboy (already mentioned) then add in Dan Henderson(if he beats Shogun), Jake Ellenberger, Brian Bowles(if he beats Faber), Mark Muñoz(if he beats Leben), Dominick Cruz, José Aldo, Ben Henderson/Clay Guida winner, & Brian Ebersole/Rory MacDonald winner

yep

i think nick diaz stated his case at the weekend but jon jones pretty much stands alone in this category.

i'd put diaz ahead of cerrone on the strength of his opponents but jones is untouchable when it comes to fighter of the year honours for 2011.

Cerrone is not in the discussion. The comp is just not there. This guy has flown up my favorite fighter rankings, but he does not belong here.

Hendo, Diaz def in the honorable mention category. But again, not in Bones league.

Uncle Creepy has had a very nice 2011. He should still pickup another win before the year is over, just not the win I was looking forward to(injury). His first fight of the year was an upset win over the #1 Fly in the world. Uncle Creepy has taken that #1 spot in 2011.

What if Hendo beats Rua's ass? Then he might have an argument too? He did beat the alleged GOATs ass?

It's a great year for Dan, but Jone's year, with a win vs Lyoto, is arguably the best ever.
