| First time we have killed the real (actual) number 2 in AQ since killing Bin Laden we have killed 8 high value targets in Pakistan not including bin laden, ranging from operational commanders (Kashmiri) influential clerics(awlaki) members of the shura council and AQ hierarchy | |

| seems like im always hearing about the "number 2" in alqaeda being killed, feel like this is in the news about every other month. There must be a lot of number 2's out there, fuckin 2's piss me off bra. A lot of them seem to strangely come back to life for some reason. Then they get killed again, and then they come back to life again and repeat...
i believe the record holder for most alqaeda resurrections Hakimullah Mehsud from pakistan. I believe he's been reported killed 8 times now.
Honestly there's no way of really telling who they kill with the drones. Most of the people killed are usually innocent civilians women and children. If they kill a crowd of 30 people to get one bad guy it's considered a success. Meanwhile they find out next week he's still alive... and repeat...

| problem is, we have never killed the #2 in Al Qaeda before this
It has always been clear Bin Laden was #1 and Zawahiri was #2 especially after the two merged their two organizations (Bin Ladens AQ and Zawahiris EIJ Egyptian Islamic Jihad)
Bush and them claimed Abu Zubadeh was as high as #3 in Al Qaeda (in reality he wasn't even a member), KSM was operational commander of 9-11 but he wasn't #2 or even #3.
In actuality the list went 1. Bin Laden 2. Zawahiri 3. Muhammad Atef
Now that Bin Laden has been killed and Atef has been dead for 10 years, Libi was clearly #2 because of his escape from Bagram Prison.
This is legitimately the first time we killed the #2 of Al Qaeda

Mehsud was Bailtullah Mehsuds main commander and they are linked to Taliban not Al Qaeda

North and South Waziristan. the FATA, tribal regions.
Mehsud was Bailtullah Mehsuds main commander and they are linked to Taliban not Al Qaeda so there are no civilians at all in these places? Come on now. These drones drop bombs into a crowd of people to get one bad guy that may or may not even be there. The concept that none of our leaders seem to grasp, scratch that the concept that they blatantly ignore and lie about, is that killing a bunch of innocent people will cause blow back. It is a fairly simple concept, if you invade or occupy another country, or bomb the shit out of them with unmanned drones, and kill a bunch of innocent people, you are creating more enemies than you would of had if you didn't drop that bomb, didn't kill those people's family members. Not everyone is a terrorist and hates America in the middle east, the media just portrays it that way. There are probably people who support our efforts, until we kill their entire family with a drone strike. This may seems like bad policy, a mistake. But it's not. It's business. And it's definitely not humanitarian so don't tell me about how we're spreading peace and democracy. You don't spread peace through murdering innocent people, no matter how you twist it, no matter how many bad guys got killed, it is still wrong. And it will never bring peace.

| Im saying that if you are in the FATA tribal regions of North and South Waziristan and you are killed in a drone strike with the legit number 2 in Al Qaeda.
Chances are you weren't a good "civilian".
You have to realize Paistan signed deals with us, we have had at least 4 drone air bases in Pakistan. THe Pakistan regime wants our money and have reason to fear Al Qaeda (not the Taliban as much). Keep that in mind whenever you see Pakistan trying to save face by speaking against the drones.
If you have read Bin Ladens 14 letters released (I recommend it) he spends at least 9 pages stressing how effective the Drones have been, even stating to contact his son Hamza (the prince of terror) to stay out of the FATA and only travel on cloudy days because of the drones.
Fact of the matter is, Pakistan military tried to combat Taliban and Pakistan in the Swat Valley prior to 2004 and got their asses kicked. THey are an army built to confront India, not fight counter terrorism wars. They signed the FATA bills giving Taliban safe haven in North Waziristan. WOuld you rather our military send troops in Pakistan to combat these nut jobs in FATA or keep dropping bombs with drones? Because in my opinion, doing nothing and letting these people operate freely...... You talked about blow back. Remember 1998, 2000 and 2001 when all we had done to inflame them (AQ) was remain allies with Saudi Arabia.
Letting people like Al Libi and whoever was killed with him operate freely is not the best way to keep the country safe.
