this started out as a car chase several blocks away


the woman was in a car with a baby ended up being boxed in and try to ram the Capitol gates to try to keep going, when she couldn't she stepped out of the car and fired several shots and I guess killed.

Much to do about nothing.

I saw reports that the woman never fired a shot. But it does seem odd that a woman would choose to ram the gate at the White House with a baby in the car in an attempt to get away? That just doesn't sound right.

The incident prompted a contrived freak out with alarmist rolling news coverage which went from characterizing the incident as a potential terror attack with attendant gun battle to clarifying that it was in fact a mentally disturbed woman with a baby who tried to ram some gates somewhere near the White House. The shots fired were all likely fired by law enforcement.

“We have no information that this is related to terrorism or is anything other than an isolated incident,” US capitol police chief, Kim Dine later acknowledged.

The urgency and hand-wringing freak out that followed courtesy of the network news media once again underscores how the corporate press thrives on turning comparatively minor criminal incidents into crises of apocalyptic proportions.

Continuous speculation about whether or not President Barack Obama was in the White House when this woman began her (not so deadly) act of vehicular rampage raged across CNN and Fox News, while Senator Pat Roberts remarked that he was ready to get out his Marine sword and do battle.



It’s unclear whether or not this will just be passed off as a mentally challenged woman who tried to ram some gates, or as some racist government-hating, Obamacare critic desperately acting out on her political grievance.

What’s certain is that the news media will get to enjoy weaving fanciful narratives about the incident over the next couple of days while ignoring actual news stories that genuinely impact a significant number of Americans.

Last I heard when I turned on Fox News on a few minutes ago was she crashed into the gate and then led them on a chase. Not the chase ending at the gate. Also no reports of the woman being killed, just shot. They are also saying they aren't sure who fired the shots.

was this woman armed or not? That is very important!

Multiple sources told CNN that it is not believed at this point any shots were fired from the car and no weapon has been found so far.

They should not have killed her. That baby is forever without a mother. How can they get away with this? Of course, she should not have been ramming gates, but that is not a crime police should shoot someone for

A woman has been shot dead today after she rammed her car into a White House barricade with a young child inside then led police on a chase toward the Capitol, witnesses said.


Up to 15 shots were fired at 2pm (ET) on Thursday with officers swarming the scene with machine guns while hundreds of staffers and tourists fled in terror or took shelter in buildings at the political heart of Washington D.C.


The female suspect was shot dead by police officers but it not believed to have fired any shots. She is believed to be 34-year-old dental hygienist from Stamford, Connecticut.  


A child, aged around 18 months, was rescued from the car uninjured following the police chase with the driver of the luxury, black Infiniti.

There is practically no front end damage in this picture. Did she "ram" a marshmallow or something?

He said: 'The car was trying to get away. But it was going over the median and over the curb.


'The car got boxed in and that's when I saw an officer of some kind draw his weapon and fire shots into the car.'

... they stopped her again, had her boxed in with 6 cop cars ...

... so obviously, with her stopped and unarmed ... they had to fire multiple shots into her car ... and kill her.

I say we wait a few days before listening to the bogus initial reports. Right now I think some badges need to be taken away if she was unarmed.
