| i'll keep my final thoughts as brief as possible since i've been typing about this all night nd left most in the discussion thread.
I give the event a 7. Fairly average. Some gems good content though
- Main event didnt live up to the hype, but they rarely do. This fight was simolar to Jones-Rampage only Rashad had more moments and did some good things, but for the most part he was backed up, couldnt close the distance, and took too many shots. Im not surprised Jones outstruck him, i kind of expected that but i am a bit surprised that Rashad couldnt get a good hold on Jones for takedowns. He never came close. This fight won't be worth revisiting.
- Rory looked great, but this fight was made for him to look great. Che Mills is the worst fighter he has faced in the UFC and style wise, the most tailor made. You can't tell me Dana White and Joe Silva didnt sit around thinking of a guy with a decent record and decent highlights who can't stop takedowns or defend himself on his back. They decided on Che Mills. Joe Rogan was plenty annoying in this bout..yeah, very good educating casuals on how good Che Mills is while everybody who knows Che Mills knows everyhing Rogan was saying is bullshit. Since it was a co-main event and obviosly the machine was rev'd up for Rory, his stock goes up in that regard but in my eyes, i hold him in the same regard i had him after Diaz and Pyle...which is very good. Rory is excellent..but this bout was a shameless hype job and a waste of a co-main event slot rather than this defining performance for Rory Macdonald.
- Michael McDonald was amazing. Torres had nothing for him. BW is starting to heat up. Torres, i'm starting to get the feeling he was never really that good but i don't like to be that guy and don't want to take anything away from Mcdonald. Fact is, Miguel is who he is and thats about as big of a win as you can get at BW.
-Yagin-Hominick was good. Hominick landed a high volume of jabs, but Yagin seemed to be landing most of his power shots. Good decision. Yagin looked good but once he got tired and lost his head movement, started getting hit too much.
- Bocek/Alessio was borrring
- Huge win for Rothwell. Not because he beat somebody good, but because he needed a win. Good post fight though...and once again
<-----was right about Schaub
- Griggs was fun while it lasted. Still not buying Travis Browne
- Makdessi/Njokuani was disappointment. As i noted. It seems these exciting striker vs. exciting striker bouts always turn into boring passive striker vs. boring not as passive, but still too conservative striker. Even Barboza-Pearson caused more excitement when it was announced than it did during the fight.
- Officials are still clearing up the rubble from the devastating Wonderboy Steven Thompson hype train crash
- Another win for Danzig. Keeps sticking around. Hard to imagine Efrain sticking around. Dude just aint very good.
- Blanco was extremely disappointing. He looked better at LW. His opponent didnt look special either.
- Clements vs. Wisniewski was a good battle.
Decent stuff. | |

| 7. If the main event had a meaningful or exciting conclusion that would of been an all time great main card. Overall average though. | |
