| Yeah Hendo has never really been a shoot takedown kind of guy anyway. His shot is notoriously weak because he's a greco wrestler, not a freestyle wrestler. If he takes someone down it's going to be from the clinch. I don't think Shogun would shy away from throwing everything at anyone in the world because of being afraid of being taken down. His bottom game is very good, and submission defense is an area Hendo has been less than successful in before. I realize the guys submitting him had great jiu jitsu but Shogun also has great jiu jitsu and his submissions are on par with the Nogueira's and Anderson Silva. | |

| Ludo - you're on crack with that last post. I don't think Shogun's offensive BJJ is anywhere near the Nogs, who submitted Dan an entire first grader ago. He was always a MT guy from a MT school, who of course had good Jitz in theory, based on the fact he is Brazilian. Remember the BJJ vs MT rivalry of Chutebox vs BTT? A long forgotten angle now a days. The announcers in Pride always talked how he had awesome jujitsu sure but he has a lone sub, a kneebar over Kevin Randleman. Also, if his knees are as bad as you say they are, and as I believe they are, guard play isn't a great idea anyway. No way is going to the ground with the GnP of Dan Henderson on top of you a good idea ever.
But anyway, your overall point is valid. I challenge anyone who disputes Rua's knees and movement isn't crap to watch how he bounced around in his Pride fights, and that small stretch between Liddell and the Machida fights, vs how he has moved since. But Page is even worse looking nowdays.
Page has been getting rocked a lot lately, and I think this is the time where he goes to sleep.

| Rua isn't as washed up as ya'll think he is. He didn't look great against Hendo but it's not the first time we've seen Shogun come in and look bad. He looked horrible in his first fight against Forrest and looked pretty shitty against Coleman as well. Then he comes in and KOs Chuck, has one epic razor thin decision against Machida (where he kicked the everliving shit out of Lyoto's legs), and then KOs Machida quickly in the second matchup. Losses to Bones and Hendo don't mean he's washed up. He can and should take Page out with a finish...no decisions.
Shogun is still only 30, yeah he's got significant mileage on his tires, but I think he's got another title run in him.

Maybe that has something to do with him coming in overweight. Oh well, the LHW division doesn't need Page.
