| A top 5 list at Lightweight all time:
1. BJ Penn 2. Frankie Edgar 3. Takanori Gomi 4. Jens Pulver 5. Caol Uno
If Frankie beats Bendo he moves to number 1. |

If Frankie beats Bendo he moves to number 1. How bout he can be tied for number one, if he dominates vs. Bendo. Still number 2, win or lose, if he gets his ass kicked then squeaks out a decision somehow.

| Kawajiri has the better overall body of work. Eddie's record is nice and all, but I'll take wins over Yves Edwards, Shaolin, Krazy Horse, Josh Thompson, and JZ over Derrick Noble, Toby Imada, Josh Neer, Pat Curran and Roger Huerta.
I omitted the head to head Kawajiri and Alvarez have because I don't think it would go down quite like that again if they fought today, and I also omitted Hellboy because they both hold a win or two over him.

If Frankie beats Bendo he moves to number 1. Do they not teach ya'll how to count from 6 to 10 in Australia? Start ove... Actually nevermind. You don't know shit about the lightweight division so just leave this abortion of an opinion out there and hope for the best.

Anyone that disagrees with the great Ludo must be wrong. 12 months ago I told you all that Jones will be the P4P number 1 fighter and was proven right and now I'll be proven right again. |

Anyone who thinks Frankie Edgar has accomplished more already than Takanori Gomi and Jens Pulver ever did has mental problems, or is nothing but a casual fan. The choice is yours really. Didn't we have a poll about Jones being #1 P4P? How did that one go? Just because Jones is the consensus P4P king on Moey's Place doesn't mean he is on Ninja's Place. Since end result records are all that matters I have uncontroversial proof Jones is not the #1 P4P fighter. Nobody who loses to Matt Hammil is the best fighter on the planet.

| I have Edgar anywhere between 2-5but reading this thread is selling me more on the other side. Also, the more I think about Edgar vs Gomi the more I want to say Edgar would be put to sleep. I'm gonna see how he does against Bendo before I crown him completely over long standing legends like Gomi. I think the win over BJ Penn and Sherk, and the Maynard series though were some legacy defining shit, and still puts him up in the top five. Draws, contested decisions, comebacks whatever, he has still held the belt a long time. And there still is validity to the idea the modern era should be weighted slightly in favor of strength of schedule.
But freak, I gotta tell you, I think all of the "real" members have been coming lately with some weird ass opinions on some shit, including myself, but no matter what, your opinions are consistently the worst on the site. Period.
I could argue that Fedor needs to retire if he doesn't sign with the UFC, GDP could say personality has no baring on hotness, Ludo could cook some stats the "prove" dominick cruz is a finisher of fights, and still, doesn't touch your idiocy.

| Both Frankie and Gil have avenged their losses/draws/controversial dec. It's tough to pick between the two right now on the All Time list. I remember someone bringing up whether or not a draw is technically a title defense. I don't think "retaining" the title and "defending" the title are considered the same thing. So technically I think Frankie has 2 title defenses. But even that is debatable between fans since Penn vs Frankie 1 is up for debate. I can completely understand anyone that thinks Frankie only has 1 true title defense. Again I think this is just another example of people getting caught up in the now. Everything that happens recent is "the greatest". It's just the mindset of sports fans these days. | |
