| I think he would have a great argument for it. 2-0 against Penn nudging him to the top of the list. |

| He'd still be behind Penn, Pulver, Uno, and Gomi in overall accomplishments. What is it with you and being so quick to crown people "greatest ____ ever" or "#1 P4P after a year in the spotlight"? | |

| Edgar's resume is just as impressive as Penn's at 155 and he even has 2 victories over Penn. |

He has one victory over Penn. Lets not pretend that wasn't a robbery to suit the question.

Is it? Let's break it down: Edgars best wins: Matt Veach (Not ranked in the top ten at the time) Jim Miller (Not ranked in the top ten at the time) Gray Maynard (Not ranked in the top ten at the time) Sean Sherk (Not ranked in the top ten at the time) Hermes Franca(Not ranked in the top ten at the time) Penn's best wins at 155: Kenny Florian(ranked #2 in the world at the time) Sean Sherk(Ranked 8th in the world at the time) Caol Uno(Ranked top 2 in the world at the time) Din Thomas(Ranked 3rd in the world at the time) Takanori Gomi(ranked #1 in the world at the time) Are you still sure his resume is a candidate for best ever?

Are you still sure his resume is a candidate for best ever? Whose rankings are you going by? Either way Gray was pretty much consensus #2 when Frankie beat him

Pulver and Uno? lol Frankie is already ahead of them. That's the dumbest thing you have ever said. Frankie needs to beat a few more big names for me to say he is the goat of 155. Gil and _____ would get him there, bendo won't.

Are you still sure his resume is a candidate for best ever? So you're completely disregarding Frankie's wins over Penn? That's what takes him to number 1. Also Maynard was ranked number 2 when Frankie beat him and Sherk was a top 10 fighter when Frankie beat him. |

| GSP and Anderson cleaned out their divisions to be called the GOATS of their division. Frankie has a ways to go, and even if he did end up winning the fight vs. Bendo, the lightweight division is very deep. Clean out the division first, then we can talk. | |

The problem is no one has cleaned it out yet. Someone has to be the Lightweight GOAT. |

| That someone is BJ Penn. Cant believe you are even making this a poll. How long has Frankie been fighting in the UFC? Give it some time, then talk again. | |

How did Penn clean it out? He lost twice to Edgar, he never fought Maynard who I think beats Penn and he never fought all the guys Edgar is now going to fight. Penn far from cleaned out the division. |

Also Maynard was ranked number 2 when Frankie beat him and Sherk was a top 10 fighter when Frankie beat him. I was thinking the first time Maynard and Edgar fought, but yeah Maynard was ranked when they fought for the belt. Sherk was not. Sherk was ranked #8 in the world when he fought Penn for the belt. He fought Frankie a year later and once in between against the also not ranked at the time Tyson Griffin. Sherk got passed by other guys.

Don't be so purposely anti-establishment just to suit your purpose. Penn went on a tear where he emphatically beat Stevenson, Sherk, Florian, and Sanchez. All of whom were at the top of the division, and after beating those guys the rest of the division looked bleak in comparison to those fighters. Thats why Maynard was even in the talks of a title shot because there was nobody else with a good string of wins aside from Edgar(who Maynard had beaten not too long before).

Didnt say he cleaned out the division, I am saying if we have to pick a GOAT by your standards, I am going with BJ. You do realize this sport has grown, and fighters have changed dramatically since BJ was doing work right? The big names during BJs title reign were completely different than the big names now. A better way to ask this question would be, who wins, BJ in his prime, or Frankie now. Whoever you pick from that is who I would say is the best lightweight up to this point... The answer is BJ, btw. Ill change my POV if Frankie beats Bendo, then Gil, then drops down to 145 and beats Aldo, and holds titles in 2 divisions.

| Negative
While it seems like a long time his run has consisted of 4 fights with 2 guys, only 2 of which he really won. He should have lost the fight he won the title on by decision and then beat Penn for reals in a rematch but that does not excuse the fact that he was outstruck and was unable to take Penn down in the first fight, and he drew with Maynard(who would not beat Penn) and then beat him in a rematch after taking a hefty ass whooping for the second fight in a row...i would not call Bendo the guy to put to top off being a GOAT. He just hasnt the dominance Penn had for several years at LW. It's just a matter of time with Frankie...Penn could have been LW champion for years and years if he did not jump through so many divisions, leave the UFC mainly to fight in other divisions.

hold your horses there. His legacy isn't quite bj's yet, but it's way better than those other scrubs you listed.
