| tough one, I'm going Carlos will be but shouldn't because I think Nick finishes him this time. All Nick has to do is get Carlos to the ground, game over. | |

| Diaz will be. However, Condit is an underrated fighter with not only ability, but brains and discipline. Diaz will lose again and whine about it, again. | |

| Tough call for me. I think Diaz will still come in as the slight fav. Not sure he "deserves" it, but I give him the slight edge. But my homerism is probably effecting that. | |

| I'm trying not to hate Carlos but beating my favorite fighter, doing it on a points based game plan, when I was expecting a FOTY candidate, going completely out of character and giving a very anti-Condit performance, just adds up to bitter hate at the moment. I'm a prisoner of the moment here. | |

| Condit. He just beat Nicks ass and outclassed him for most of the fight. I thik this is just wrong, but I'm down to see them fight again. I guess I need to watch this fight again cause to me it looked like Condit easily won. | |

| I too felt like Condit robbed me of a Hendo/Shogun type instant classic. But I'm not mad at him he did want he came to do... win a decision. But this rematch is all Nicks | |

| I'd say Condit.
Because of the reach, because of the endurance, because of the style, he was totally able to diffuse what made Diaz so much trouble for others.
None of that changes in a rematch.

Yes you do then my friend. I admit I'm a Diaz homer but I'm not a Diaz fan that can't understand why the decision went the way it did, it was a close fight.

Not mad at Condit either. I don't think he fought a boring fight. That's not really the issue. But I thought this fight did show how great of a pure fighter Diaz is. Not so much an athlete. Not making this into a sport. A guy who sees all this as a fight. The straight fwd beat your ass style, the in fight taunting, the genuine dislike in his eyes during the fight. It really is just a street fight for Nick. And it's refreshing. And when he is able to get guys like Condit to become tacticians, to have Condit on his bike almost all night long, where it is obvious that Condit is not in there to beat Nicks ass, it's further evidence of how good Nick is at it.

| I expected takedowns to be part of the original game plan for Condit, but it wasn't. I still think he holds the clear wrestling advantage. I think he might use it a little more next time around. Even though Nick did try this first time around, I think he is even more aggressive this next time around with his take down attempts. But since Carlos is still the better wrestler, I'm not so sure he will have much success with that. I'm interested to see how both men go about this rematch. | |

I also thought Condit won pretty clearly. But "beat Nick's ass"? That didn't happen.

| Maybe I should make a poll about the situation itself. Do you want Diaz rematch? go ahead and give Hendricks the fight? Have Condit wait it out for GSP? Would be hard to factor in Ellenberger in a poll right now. | |

Nick look frustrated when chasing and in most exchanges. Condit kept space between them and imposed his offense all night long. I watched it one time, so I will watch it again, but to me it looked like 49-46 Condit. I will watch it again with no Rogan, just SOAD playing along with the fight.

I still want the rematch I think Condit and Diaz will do alot of talking and this will be a more explosive fight. Nick can only improve on the gameplan Jackson had for Carlos. The shit talking should be epic!

I actually agree with you BBC. Condit out struck him, with more significant shots, slowed him down, and didn't fight the Nick Diaz fight. It confused Diaz so bad, he didn't know what to do. Hell after reading the transcripts, even Nate was complaining, because Condit didn't follow 'their' strategy.

| Condit. I have no reason to believe Nick and co. are smart enough to come up with a gameplan that isn't just walking forward trying to induce someone into a slugfest | |

| Something interesting about Vegas and the lines. They came out with a hypothetical line for if the Pats and Giants were to play again this weekend. Pats were still the fav. Also the Pats are the current favorite to win next years Super Bowl. | |

And Condit scored very well via counter strike's, and kind of turned the tide for a bit in the 4th and 5th, standing instead of running, but beat nicks ass? didn't happen.

| Not since Maynard Diaz or Ortiz Griffen I have I seen a fight so disputed. There are other close decisions which get hotly debated but adherents to one side or the other with this one refuse to acknowledge the fight was even close and overstate the case to the point reality is entirely obscured. Reading this forum and you'd think Condit out landed him by 100 strikes, dominated distance while going untouched as a confused Diaz chased him flailing aimlessly, like a genius/ninja/matador. Other places tell it like Condit ran in terror from a stalking terminator Diaz the entire time, as Jonathan Snowden hilariously tweeted, fighting like he was waiting for the police to arrive.
The reality is Condit landed a little more in a fight he spent a lot of time avoiding fighting. He won. The performance lacked the aggression UFC fans come to expect.
