This rematch is nothing more than Condit fucked with Zuffa $$$ by besting Diaz. +1 |

| It's frustrating to see how Condit has been handled by Zuffa the past year all because Diaz is a more desirable opponent on booking grounds. | |

In that sense I feel for Carlos. You could just listen to the pre fight countdown and hear all the shit they have put Carlos through. Going to fight Penn, no wait going to fight GSP. Wait no Kos? Wait no fight, I have to wait. GSP? No? Diaz? OK. Done, time for GSP now? No? Diaz? Again?

| They have already jerked Condit around enough, why not just say no to a rematch? It's not like they can fuck with him any more. It wasn't controversial enough to rip his Interim Belt away. That belt is a golden ticket to fight GSP. What disciplinary action could he possibly face for saying no? | |

| http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2012/2/8/2784977/carlos-condit-vs-nick-diaz-rematch-in-jeopardy-was-never-officialLet me start by apologizing for my wording on the post this morning, I ran a post with the headline "Carlos Condit Vs. Nick Diaz Rematch Becomes Official Amid Managerial Confusion." The bout was not official at that point, Dana White had simply confirmed that Condit had agreed to the bout. That was sloppy on my part and I apologize for any confusion caused by it. It now appears, from reports coming from a variety of different directions, that the rematch will not happen due to an "issue" in the Diaz camp. No one has yet been quite willing to say what the "issue" is, but I've heard it from enough people that it does seem there is something that is keeping the Diaz camp from being able to accept the fight. The first person I saw reporting that there was a problem was Front Row Brian on Twitter (some tell me he also beat everyone to news of Condit agreeing to the fight yesterday). Cesar Gracie hinted that something was also going on a few moments ago via his Twitter: @CesarGracieBJJ Cesar Gracie We greatly appreciate our fan support. Everything will be out soon. | |

| Oh whatever @ Diaz camp drama. The fight will and should happen. It has been consensus that the Diaz Condit winner may have to fight again before GSP. We already knew that. The first fight WAS controversial, and while I scored it for Condit many fans and fighters did not based on a scoring philosophy difference and I respect their point. And as consumer I was left unsatisfied with the bout. The growth of the sport depends on big fights delivering as promised. Point fighting that draws criticism should be recognized as valid, which it is, which is why Carlos is currently a UFC champion, but at the same time should be handled just like this.
But pooooooor Condit, the UFC is fucking him hardcore!! He gets to avoid a legion of wrestlers, fight a guy he already beat once, a champions salary this time out, save his damaged brand and crippled rep with casuals and PPV buyers, and if he wins, still fights GSP(but make more money than he would if he fought him after waiting off this performance). I feel so sad for him and his family. Especially since other controversial title fights with defensive styles like Penn Edgar and Machida Shogun didn't lead to rematches! Lets all join together support of The Condit Family. Free Carlos! Fuck UFC oppession!

| This fight was almost but not quite as close as Shogun vs Machida, obvious difference being the correct winner being named in the end of this fight though, Carlos Condit. This rematch has nothing to do with should and everything to do with keeping the hope of Diaz vs GSP money alive. | |

| Carlos Condit is now a multi-millionare, so he no longer has to fight if he doesn't want too. But the fact that he is ready to fight right now, didn't even budge when asked to re-match and Nicky doesn't want to fight, blah, blah, blah. This is all BS. Condit is the Champion (interim) and that is all there is to it. I had it four rounds to five, so did two judges. As far as the scoring criteria goes, aggression is merely one of the factors. PPL need to get over their favorite losing. I didn't give Kenflo any rounds when he fought Aldo, except the one round I thought he won. Aldo won that fight and I don't even like the SOB, but I can't deny that he did in fact earn the victory. | |

| I don't know that condit is a millionaire multiple times over. Unless his purse for this was multiple millions. He had a real low key life style. Money is a huge reason Condit takes this bout. | |

| How is this fight in any way comparable to Kenny vs Aldo? Even people scoring the fight for Condit can't agree on which rounds he won. 3 judges, 3 cards, non of them scored exactly the same. You can find plenty of fighters and sites that gave the fight to Condit, but again which rounds he won will vary. | |

| He got paid for the fight that didn't happen against GSP. Sorry to tell you that but it is true. And he just got paid, with bonuses for this fight. I would say Carlos has made around $3 million in the last 9 months.
If you guys remember the presser that Diaz didn't show up to and DW announced that Condit would replace him, he said that Diaz lost more money in this one fight than he had in all of his other fights combined. And Diaz was bringing home in excess of $150,000 a fight at SF. Well you do some simple math and he was being promised around $1.5 million to fight for the title. That is a guesstimate and that doesn't include sponsorships and off the record bonuses. Carlos has made his money. But he isn't ducking a re-match, but Nick is.
As for the score? I had rounds 1,3,4,5 for Carlos. I was unimpressed with the Nick's inability to adjust his gameplan, while Carlos kept his intact from round 1 to 5, while Diaz got more agitated by not being able to close.

Why the wait, everything will be out soon, knock the drama off and own up, is this another case of the spotlight was too bright, anxiety issues, you have another chance rise up and take it. Saw on one forum that some inside sources are saying he failed his drug test, marijuana, which is stupid cause if anything that is why he was so laid back.

| How so Wolf? With the exception of the late in the round TD by Diaz, condit was hitting him harder and more often. Diaz looked slow to respond, even after taking him down and unable to perform any of his magical BJJ. | |

GSP isn't ready. Hendricks not there yet. Kos was unimpressive and had his chance. Fitch was just KTFO. So Carlos can wait around or the UFC can try 1 more time to get the fight they want. That's their line of thinking, not that it's right. Because honestly, it sucks for Carlos. Hendrick's isn't there yet ?? he just knocked out one of the main contenders in the division. it was a lucky 10 second one punch KO to be fair. that wouldn't happen again if they fought 100 more times.
