Which fight would sell more PPVs? Hendo-Rashad

Time to pull a poll. Which fight would have higher PPV #s? Bones vs Hendo or Bones vs Evans?

Hendo is more loved here and will probably win this poll but honestly I think Jones-Rashad would sell much more. In saying that though I hope Dan gets the next shot.

Black on blonde crime. Hendo would sell too though.

I think you are underestimating how much Hendo is loved by the fans. I think even the casual fans will be more interested in the legend Dan Henderson then some hyped up stale beef between Rashad and Jones. Which would be a more historic moment? Rashad being the first man to put Jones away to regain the LHW title? Or Dan the Man adding to his legacy and finally capturing that UFC gold? Hendo has the more pleasing style, he is the more liked fighter and his fight would be bigger historically. Hendo is on a roll right now and has momentum behind him. Rashad has been warming the bench.

Neither will make history as Jones beats both. I want Hendo to get the next shot but when has he ever sold a lot of PPV's?

It's about where both fighters are right now. Just like almost all Evans PPVs, it will be carried by this opponent. Right now I think more people want to watch Hendo fight then Rashad. More people want Hendo to win the title then Rashad. Hendo still has the unbroken chin and the game changer in his right hand. At this point Hendo is just the more desired fighter. A legend getting his last crack at UFC Gold, that will sell.

Still say Bones VS Rashad. Drama and the fact that he will be on FOX makes it sell more, like Wolf said.

Trash talking sells, but this one is so old I have lost any desire to see it.

Hendo fought on CBS. Hendo vs Fedor got 570K viewers on Showtime. Hendo is coming off what many are calling the best fight EVA! Hendo is as hot as ever right now. On the flip side Rashad's stock has definitely been higher then it is right now. Warmed the bench only to come back to beat on Old Tito. Rashad's trash talk is being overrated here, he's not Sonnen.

I'm talking about now. When he beats Phil Davis and if it looks pretty and he calls out Bones after the fight (Bones will be there in the cage just watch) people are gonna get hyped. Listen brah I'm a Hendo fan too I want to see Hendo beat up on Bones, Rashad is alright too only when he is not fighting Page. I just see it that drama sells fights more. Like Dana says styles make matchups but it's even better when they hate each other.

Styles makes matchups? Wouldn't that be a pro for Hendo then? Because it's undeniable that Hendo provides the more pleasing style and the more entertaining style matchup. Do casual fans really want to see if Rashad can get enough takedowns to steal a dec vs Jones? Or do they want to see if that H-Bomb turns out the lights?

i think Jones vs Evans does significantly more, ill say 750,000 while Jones vs Hendo would do around 500,000

I guess people don't know what's good for them. You can't let trash talk fool you into thinking it would provide a more entertaining fight. Because that just isn't true. Any logical person can look at these fighters and see that Hendo would provide the more pleasing matchup to watch for everyone. How bout this, when Rashad Evans enters the WWE ring to challenge Jon Jones, you can play a Hendo HL reel over the big screen, see what's really good.

Even if Rashad wins, he has to come out 100% healthy, or Dan gets the shot. Dan is also in position that if Munoz wins or if Chael suffers ANY kind of injury/setback, Dan will be there to take that shot. So he will be paying close attention to both fights. Odds are Dan slips in and gets one of those shots.

I think there is no doubt about it that Sonnen vs Spider 2 would outsell Hendo vs Spider 2. That fight would outsell both fights in this poll. We will never know the answer to this question but I think you can make an argument for both sides. But even if the general public is too stupid to know which fight would be more entertaining, I don't think Jones-Evans beef would pick up the momentum some of you are expecting it to. At the same time I don't think you are giving the current Hendo hype enough consideration. But given the right publicity I think a Hendo matchup could pick up some steam.

Don't think there would be a big difference either way. I think some people are definitely overestimating how many buys Jones-Evans would do based on PPV numbers over the last year. Most casual fans are familiar with Rashad talking a lot shit to Rampage too and then pushing him up against a cage for a whole fight.

The upside on Evans-Jones is probably higher, maybe around 600k tops depending what else was on the card, but Hendo could bring in 500

Complete BS, there where alot of factors in that. Hendo obviously got paid very well to go to SF, the UFC and Dana made it clear that they wanted to keep Hendo. Hendo not being able to get his crack Spider was also a factor. There were multiple factors in that situation. When talking about the Hendo vs Rua numbers you have to remember that card didn't feature a title fight. It also took place during the heart of football season.
