I wouldn't say Arce , Moreno and Martinez were locks.

Arce has never been the greatest fighter in the world, but he has beaten decent opposition usually by knockout. After 59 victories with a decent amount of them being for world titles, it makes a serious case for inclusion into the Hall. He just won another title at bantamweight.


Whatever is left of his career will help his case even more and be fun to watch.

not sure anout moreno and martinez hasn't done enough yet imo.

if james toney is a lock for the hall of fame it tells you more about the people who vote than anything else.

Sadly the hall of fame for boxing is more of a popularity contest then anything else. There are people in it that shouldn't be.

dan rafael has a vote and he was going to vote for arturo gatti. i don't care if he had some great wars or if he died before his time, he was never good enough to be considered. toney should only ever be voted in if there's a category for fat, sideshow disappointments.

i agree with most of those suggested though.

?? I know Toney's become a bit of an embarrassment lately but his achievements are worthy of Canastota.

Well I remember about a year or so ago he was scheduled to fight Comanche Boy but that fight never went down.

His near shutout loss to Williams should have been the warning bell that he has little left.

Actually I think he was suppose to fight Grady Brewer, not Comanche Boy. Both guys are from my hometown.

Not sure how much sense it makes fighting a guy like Brewer at this stage of his career,unless he's stapped for cash.Even with his diminished skills,he would have an easy time with Grady.

Doubtful, His wins over Tito and Mosley aren't enough to make him a lock IMO, but with the structure today he will eventually get in.
