| Subject: Now, the truth on the P4P rankings. Sun Oct 24, 2010 9:26 am | |
| After last night's destruction of Brock Lesnar, Cain should now be in the top 10 P4P discussion. However, the man who so many MMA outlets removed from the list after getting "caught" should also be there, one Fedor Emelianenko. Here's my argument:
Anderson Silva is considered the P4P best fighter in the world and he got absolutely dominated by Chael Sonnen? Yes, Silva won the fight, but would any of my fellow Ninja Forum contributors think they would ever see Fedor get dominated for 5 rounds like Anderson did? No way, No how. Yes, Silva should still be near the top in the P4P, but as should Fedor, and hopefully if and when Fedor gets a rematch, he will dominate Werdum.
Cain should be considered in the P4P because, well quite frankly, he just dominated the person that most people thought would dominate him, Brock Lesnar. I for one, predicated Cain would win, although admittingly had some lingering doubts. Do you see Cain getting dominated like he dominated Lesnar last night? I think not. If he loses, much like Fedor, it will be because he got "caught" with either a good punch or submission.
Overall, the difference here is that, Cain and Fedor are both in the P4P discussion. Neither one would get dominated and quite frankly embarrassed like Anderson Silva did v Sonnen and Brock did v. Cain last night. Love to have yalls opinion on the matter...

| Sonnen was on steroids for that fight so it should be stricken from the record. |

- I don't argue any of that. But Overeem has looked like a destroyer of souls in K1. He has a dangerous submission game and is huge and strong now. I'd still like to see him exposed. I had him outside of the top ten until he destroyed Rogers. I'm kind of getting caught up in the hype here like Lesnar fans were. He is experienced and extremely well rounded though, and has been a monster in K1, so the situations arent exactly the same. Lesnar was a complete house of cards.
If anybody hates being hit more than Brock, it's Overeem. He's as flaky as it comes. His wheels come off when he gets cleanly hit, and the fact that he's been fighting shitty fighters that can't hit him is not particularly impressive. His best win is against a guy in Brett Rogers who was barely top ten, and even then, that was him being waaaaay overrated. People thought his boxing was good because he hit Fedor... newsflash... Fedor's done. He can't hang with the new breed of heavies. Cain's in town, and he's by far the best heavyweight fighter in the world.

| Sorry too. If Brock lost the way a highly touted, savvy veteran did to a man with virtually no stand-up everybody would have bashed the shit out of him for not understanding the fight game. Plus Fedor has a dismal record against guys he should never have fought. That hurt his name and reputation. Fedor is not top 10 and I still don't think he is above the UFC top 4, which still includes Brock. Please note that Brocks loss, he actually lasted longer than Fedor did against Werdum too. | |

| I think all the nuthuggers are fading! I thought Fedor would dominate this list the way he did HMC. Nice to sanity returned. Cain is 1, JDS is 2, Lesnar is 3, Carwin 4, Werdum 5. Simplicity at its finest. | |

Cain Velasquez in. Rashad Evans out. Really? He is undefeated, has all the skills and destroyed the champion who is a beast and outweighed him by 25 pounds. |
