If he would have KO'd him, I think it would have been real easy to just say, Nog is shot, and much like the first fight with Nog, Mir does not get much credit.

But bjj skills do not diminish the way striking skills do. And Mir just snapped the arm of one of the true bjj legends in the sport.

So, even though it is old Nog, do we look at this as a marquee win for Mir?

They are the two biggest wins of Mir's career.

Nog was always considered the most durable with the iron chin. Mir was the first to knock him out.

Nog is a BJJ legend(in MMA), i never really considered the Nogs in the discussion of the true BJJ greats in just competitive BJJ but Mir breaks his arm.

Nog was making a very nice move to Mir's back, i was in the middle of saying "Wowww" and it turns out he left his arm in too long

In just competitive BJJ the nogueira's probably aren't top jiu jitsu players but in MMA they are BJJ greats. That said there is a reason Minotauro wanted no part of Werdum on the ground when they fought.

Mir absolutely gets extra props for submitting Minotauro. He's the only man on the planet who can say he submitted this guy in MMA in over 40 fights. It seems Frank just has his number here. He got rocked hard standing no matter what he says and then manages to capitalize on a very minor mistake made by Minotauro in the heat of things. It was insane.

Huge props to Mir. I was actually confused by what Nog was doing. I felt like he turned the wrong way after losing the choke. But who am I to say to question him.

When Rogan asked him if he was hurt by the punches he said he was "stunned and trying to see how the first three or four minutes would play out".

Thats what I'm saying. You don't sway around the way he did if your just stunned and waiting it out.

Mir has proven he is a very underrated fighter. After what he has done to a Legend of the sport and considering his history against Lesnar, I think it makes Lesnar look better.

Mir gets extra props, was a great comeback and impressive finish. I thought he was a done when he got hurt. Nog slipped up by not keeping the strikes coming.

I don't know why Nogueira didn't go for the back and try for a guillotine instead. At least then he wouldn't have ended up on the bottom so quickly if it didn't work out. In any event nobody should be upset with Mir for breaking that shit. Minotauro broke his own arm when he refused to concede when he was caught.
