We couldn't come to terms with Dan Henderson... Business, nothing personal with Dan, I have a great relationship with him... but he was looking for an obscene amount of money. You never know what's gonna happen, we'll see what happens, but as of now, yeah, negotiations are done.

Until Hendo puts ink on a contract for somebody I don't know what to expect to happen with all this

I'll just take the wait and see approach here. After the whole Tito Ortiz thing you never know for sure.
I just want to know what the UFC thinks is an obscene amount of money for Hendo. I think they are just playing hardball because they don't particularly need Hendo and if he were to take a loss to Nate Marquardt then they have their #3-4 or lower MW making Chuck Liddell money. I'd imagine Strikeforce would be careful as well, but it may be worth it to sign him to a deal to give Mousasi a big time fight, and who knows. A year from now King Mo should porbably be ready for a Hendo sized challenge if he actually plans on being a top fighter one day.

Hendo trains King Mo.
Also, Hendo is pretty old. He doesn't have many fights left in him at the leve he's at. He should sign and start fighting ASAP.

U ask me I wish we could hear how much money he really wanted. Was it really a crazy amount or does Dana just feel they can move on without paying Dan. I almost think u pay him just because of the fights he has out there. he could fight Nate, Vitor, a Spider rematch. All those fights sound very interesting to me. I would also pay to see them all.

3 good fights 4 sure, but only Hendo silva is a main event, and that has more to do with silva. I can see why the UFC won't break the bank, but yeah it really comes down to what he is asking.

Dana White: Dan Henderson demanded to be "by far the highest-paid guy in the UFC" by John Morgan on Oct 22, 2009 at 6:40 pm ET LOS ANGELES – UFC fans hoping to hear a positive update on current free agent Dan Henderson's return to the UFC might not want to read any further.
At Thursday's UFC 104 pre-event press conference, UFC president Dana White told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that Henderson's financial demands are simply unrealistic.
"We're at a stalemate right now," White said. "The money that [Henderson] is asking for would make him by far the highest-paid guy in the UFC."
White initially told Yahoo! Sports less than a week ago that his negotiations with Henderson had failed and that "Hollywood" was close to signing with Strikeforce. Henderson then refuted those claims with several media outlets, insisting his contact with Strikeforce had simply been introductory in nature.
White today said a chance encounter on Wednesday night led him to believe perhaps the relationship was progressing.
"You know what's [expletive] hilarious?" White asked. "I went to dinner last night, and [Henderson's] lawyer and (Strikeforce CEO) Scott Coker are sitting at dinner together last night. I said, 'What are the [expletive] odds that out of every restaurant in L.A., the one that I go to, these guys are here?'"
White did say that Henderson still has an open invitation to rejoin the UFC, but the former PRIDE champion would need to accept the terms the UFC executive has offered – which he insists are better than anything the two-division contender will find on the open market.
"The negotiations are done," White said. "I made [Henderson] an offer, and I guarantee you the offer that I made him, Strikeforce can't pay."
So, at least for now, Henderson will remain on the outside of the promotion.
White has said in the past that he considers Henderson a friend, and the UFC president assured MMAjunkie.com that these failed negotiations won't stand in the way of the pair's personal relationship.
"I like Dan," White said with a smile. "We're totally cool. You'll never hear me say a bad thing about Dan Henderson, other than he's ugly, and that's just the truth."

Who is the highest paid fighter? I'd assume Brock, but you know guys like Couture, Liddell, & Griffin make a ton too.

Probably Chuck or Randy like u said. Maybe thats why he dont want to invest big into Hendo cause he has alot of guys on the high end of the payroll on the downside of there careers.
