| Jacare never could sustain his attack and Rockhold kept putting punches and kicks together, I don't know if it was his height or his style but there were stretches that Jacare wasn't throwing anything, 50-45 is emberassing, did that judge not even look at the takedowns or the fact that he rocked Rockhold, I think it was a great win for the kid and I do think Jacare took him lightly cause he did not look like his gas tank was prepared for 5 rounds | |

u mean mythical top 10 fighters? Not sure if Nate has any true top 10 wins, unless Maia was somehow on a ranking. and Omaki's only possible top 10 is Nate. Circular argument. Okami's best 3 wins are-
Nate Marquardt, Mark Munoz and Alan Belcher.
Marquardt's best 3 wins are-
Demian Maia, Martin Kampmann and Dan Miller
Jacare's best 3 wins are-
Tim Kennedy, Jason Miller and Robbie Lawler
Jacare has the weakest resume when it comes to wins and he just lost to a guy that wasn't even top 30.
how are Maia Kamp and Miller better then kennedy, mayhem and Lawler?
And Luke's rankings are skewed cause he has been out for so long. everyone knew he was talented, 8-1 with 8 1st rnd finishes, he trains with a great camp, actually had a ton of time to train and improve since last we saw him, and looked great last night.
Do not get too hung up on subjective rankings. Lol, his best win was Jesse Taylor. Key word: Was now it's Jacare...who was universally top 10 even by the staunchest UFC is all the matters rankings...so, it seems like another case of how freakzilla ranks fighters vs. how everybody else ranks fighters.

| actually, Bradley, Devela and Taylor were all solid wins leading up to a great one vs Jacare. And like I said, the layoff skews the rankings. | |

I thought people were crazy to rank him in the top 3. I had him at 6. so a difference of 3 spots makes one crazy? Big difference between 3 and 6. People were ranking him ahead of Vitor, Okami and Marquardt. No reason not to rank him above Okami who was pushed down the rankings ladder by the rise of several fighters while he slipped, Marqaurdt had the same thing going on. Vitor has fought twice at Middleweight in the last two years, it isn't exactly a stretch to have someone who's been fighting at 185 this whole time ahead of him.

| Luke is just a whole lot better now. I don't think any of us would've had him in our top ten but the guy proved he is a high level fighter in every way last night. He is clearly top 10 imo.
I can't stop thining about Jacare vs Paul Harris for some reason now and I want to see that fight. At the same time I want Luke to fight Silva. Is that wrong? Luke better add a few more slick combo's though. I think he is more game then most of the guys Spider has fought in the UFC.

| There is three guys that came through AKA that Crazy Bob Cook said would be successful future champions. One was BJ Penn. Second was Cain. The third is Luke Rockhold. | |

How about Jacare vs Jardine, since Jardine is moving down to MW. Have the winner face the winner of Rockhold/Kennedy.

Haven't heard that one. Mousasi started at MW (beat some decent names on won dream's tourney) but felt he was still growing and even considered going to HW in the future.

| I saw an interview with him after the Jardine fight and he said he was open to it. He'd be great for the MW division. |

| After rewatching this fight I got to say it was one of the closest title fights i've seen. But Jacare def won the first two rounds. Rock did nothing in the first, and in the second he got rocked and all he did was throw a combo at the end of the round that Jacare blocked. The third went to Rockhold but it was because of aggression almost all of the combos he threw were blocked, he landed non of the head kicks that Pat was gizzing over. And the last two rounds were really close.
For anyone to say that Rock won all 5 rounds is so beyond stupid I can't believe it. I agree with the decision but I think Jacare wins if they fight again

| I think if they fight again it looks exactly like this. Jacare blowing his load in the first two rounds unable to hold Rockhold down and then Luke takes over again. | |

| I think if Jacare doesn't gass out trying to take him down he could beat Rockhold on the feet. Rockhold admitted himself that he got rocked a couple times, I'm not saying it's 100% it would still be close cause Rockhold has skills, Jacare could end up KOed if he got caught slipping. But as far as I saw Jacare did more damage he just gassed out. | |

If they fought again now, same results are unlikely in that they would both do stuff totally different. X factor is the stamina, Jacare won the non-title fight, which that fight wasn't.

| If they fought again Luke probably has better timing and lands more. Kid's striking is only going to get better as his timing improves. | |

| I just don't like how people seem to think Flashy striking=great striking. Just feels like if a flexible guy with no kickboxing skills could fight a counter striking guy who blocks alot he could just throw nonstop headkicks win a dec and everyone would be talking about how great a striker he is. Not that anyone is claiming Rock's striking is great but it is being overrated. | |

I just didn't see Jacare doing much at all. Takedowns attempts in the first, clipped him once in the 3rd. Looked pretty tired for the final 4 rnds. What else was there?

| I didn't get a chance to give my thoughts on the fight. I thought Luke looked great considering the long layoff and step up in competition. I don't know if Jacare was trying conserve energy or if he was just being too conservative. I think he just kept waiting to explode with a finish. He either wanted explode with the big right or he wanted to explode to a take down and work for the sub. But I think he showed he is still a long way mentally from being an elite fighter. I thought Luke clearly won the fight. I think he wins any rematch as well. | |
