Far from being the best? I think that is downplaying his skill.

| True, I take that back, but I still stand by Okami being a better fighter. If the two in their primes fought, then I take Okami all the way. | |

Yeah but at this point Saku has the better career.

Yeah but at this point Saku has the better career. No doubt about it. He was Pride's star and they wanted him fighting everyone relevant, whether at his weight or not. It's kind of apples and oranges when comparing careers. Pride's format was totally different from the UFC's. Okami would never be allowed to fight Brock Lesnar, Jon Jones and Shogun, but Saku in his time could fight those equivalents in Crocop, Wanderlei, little Nog, Rampage, Randleman, Arona etc.

| Man we take shit too seriously sometimes
"Okami is a pretty good fighter, not really the best opponent for Anderson, but we needed a guy who know? He's a little boring, decision type fighter, don't think he can beat Anderson, but he'll be game. He's one of the better fighters to come from Japan, probably not the best, in the top 10 though for sure. Watch the fight if you like a wrestler trying to hold down a fighter whose better then him, up to you."
Or
"I'm gonna hype this fucking fight!"

| Seriously though
Sakurabu
And then it's not crazy to think Okami could be second best, if I were looking at it from a who can these guys hang with type to way, I'd put Okami 2nd, but Gomi, Aoki, Funaki good call are all right there.

"I'm gonna hype this fucking fight!" It was a solid topic for conversation. Hate if you want. But Dana lying his ass off just to promote a fight is old and we can hate if we want to. Just because it is "smart business" doesn't mean it isn't also gayness.

| Hating someone for knowing how to run a business and expecting them to not hype fights to get people interested is a pretty strange thought | |

Why is mocking dudes like Saku and Aoki necessary for hyping this fight?

| Okami is still really lacking a big time marquee win.
Saku had multiple big time wins.
Okami isn't even in the discussion at this point. Let him beat Spider, and then the discussion can begin.

| I don't think it's out of the question for us as mma fans to want Dana to not shit on a great legend of our sport by claiming he only faught cans while trying to "hype ppvs". You can apply that to Saku or Fedor. | |
