| Toss up between Reem and Mousasi. I think we could include both of their K-1 exploits. I'd say Mousasi has faced harder MMA competition regularly while Reem has faced better K1 competiton, but they both have faced good MMA and K1 fighters with Reems wins over Rogers and Werdum and Mousasi's win over Kytaro. | |

| I voted Melendez. I currently have him ranked higher at his weight class then anyone else on the list. I think he has faced the better fighters overall. However I could see a case for both Reem and Mousasi. Reem because he has had success in 2 sports and held titles in both. Mousasi because he has had success in 2 weight classes and 2 major organizations. But I currently think Gil is the best fighter for his weight class of the guys listed. | |

| Only for former Pride fighters that have not been in the UFC since the fall of Pride right?
1.Gilbert Melendez: 7-2 since the fall of PRIDE, both losses avenged, Strikeforce champion and lineal DREAM champion. Most success in the states inside the cage which goes a long way.
2. Alistair Overeem: 11-1-1 since the fall of PRIDE. Strikeforce and DREAM champion. K-1 GP winner. Competition has picked up considerably with Rogers, Duffee and Werdum. He may move to #1 of this fighters with a win over Bigfoot.
3. Fedor Emelianenko: 5-2 since the fall of PRIDE. As much as people want to be revisionist. Arlovski and Sylvia were big wins when they happened. Especially Andrei Arlovski who was riding an impressive streak with some nice KO's and wins over Werdum, Nelson, and Rothwell. Sylvia was not far removed from giving Nog a beating only to lose at the last minute. Their slide into irrelevance or in Timmy's case..disaster began after Fedor laid them out. Also got to take into account he has likely drawn the most money out of all non-UFC pride fighters.
4. Gegard Mousasi- 17-1-1 since PRIDE folded. Former Strikeforce champion. Current DREAM champion at MW and LHW. Win over current K-1 champion. Mousasi would be higher, especially based on his work at 185. Outside the UFC it does not get anymore impressive than wins over Jacare, Lombard, Kang, and Manhoef(though Lombard came in PRIDE). Not to mention his epic finish of Babalu and his continued dominance in Japan. However, his last 3 fights in Strikeforce(including Sokoudjou) have left much to be desired and it looks like Mousasi lacks understanding of the judging system in American MMA and his gas tank has given out in three straight US fights. Mousasi has lost a lot of momentum despite being shitty judging and a lost point away from being 18-1.
5. Shinya Aoki- 15-3-1 since the end of PRIDE. Aoki has been the center of some bad moments, most notably that embarrasing aberration against the kickboxer in the exhibition bout. Being dominated in his stateside debut. However, Aoki has been very solid and most of the time dominant against some very good competition at LW. His submission game is the most impressive in the weight class. Alvarez, Kawijiri, and Hirota were all completely undressed in a matter of seconds by Aoki on the mat. This guy has had a few bad moments but has made a few LOUD statements as well(breaking Hirota's arm in half and almost tearing Crusher's foot off). He deserves his ranking.
6. Hector Lombard- 22-0-1. Lombard has scored some decent lower middle of the pack wins over Ebersole, Starnes, Vitale, Doerksen, Hess, Schlemenko. Te-Huna but out of all listed. His competition has been by far the weakest and it does not help that his only two losses came in his only two fights in PRIDE(Gono and Mousasi)
7. Josh Barnett- 7-0 since the fall of PRIDE and has been dominant every step of the way. However, the competion has been lacking but Barnett's game scream success at any level. The steroids have not helped.
If this includes all non-UFC fighters...even those who never fought in PRIDE
Antonio Silva and Eddie Alvarez are definetly in consideration. | |

| i will go with gil. may not have the multiple belts or accomplishments but in mma dude was neve shy in a fight. wins over aoki and kawajiri alone went on to expose how jap mma is much differnt in a cage stateside over 2 top 10 lws. true he didnt finish aoki but thats cus aoki was just too scared and overated as always. in the end i give gil the nod. moussasi looked sad against jardine and overeem did as well over overeem. i expect big things for gil in the future possiby being the #1 lw, i cant expect the position in their divisions for the other 2 | |
