| Should be a good one. Franklin better use his speed, kicks, and not stand in the pocket much. | |

| Nog's going to win. He barely lost to Bader and Davis..still think he won the Bader fight. Franklin isnt likely to go in there and do nothing a decision with Nog. | |

| Vs bader nog took the most damaged and got rocked in round 1. Lost it clearly. Rd 2,3 both looked the same and neither did enough to win the rounds. Based off of round one, the only round wer ther was a clear winner, bader took it. Against davis nog won the first based on octogon control and aggression. Rounds 2,3 wer for davis for he controled the fight and the ground. For that he beat nog. With that said davis won 2 rounds against nog and bader only one yet bader caused more damage in his. Finnaly lets not forget brilz. A fight lil nog lost as well. A fight he got outstruck in and was even in the grappling. I remember lil nog saying the reason why he didnt look so good was because he was training for forrest and a stand up fight yet got outstruck by brilz. If brilz was able to outstrike nog, if bader was able to hold his own in the stand up, im pretty sure rich will do fine ther as well. Then again one punch from either can finish it at any moment. Nogs best chance is dec franklin on the ground while mixing in the strikes

That's because he's been fighting wrestlers. He should win this. |

That being a natural light heavyweight really worked out well for Liddell didn't it? Can we stop with the "Rich Franklin is too small for 205" stuff already?

That being a natural light heavyweight really worked out well for Liddell didn't it? Can we stop with the "Rich Franklin is too small for 205" stuff already? Worked well for Forrest Griffin. I may be a fool for saying that "size matters" in regards to him vs Lil nog since they are nearly identical in height/reach Chuck Liddell (the sprawl and brawler himself) attempted one takedown (single leg if I recall correctly, i'll have to check out the play by play) in that fight and got it. Ace was quick to get back up, and the fight ended shortly afterwards. The fight was short, and we were robbed of seeing an epic battle between two of the sports most entertaining fighters. Chuck could have taken down Franklin at will just as easily for three rounds, but that's all in hindsight. Ace is a great stand up fighter, and can stand with a majority of the people @ 205 and 185 alike. Once it gets to the ground however, I see the size/strength differences between him and the bigger guys @ 205 putting a few potholes in his way to a title shot at LHW.

Forrest happens to be an overly large light heavyweight. He's well known as being one of the biggest fighters in the division and his ground game has always been solid. As far as Chuck being able to get takedowns all night if he wanted them I'm not so sure. Even Matt Hammill had trouble taking Rich down and he's far and away a better wrestler than Chuck was. The reason Chuck was able to get that takedown was because of the sheer surprise of it. It isn't often he even attempts a takedown and thus when he does it it's likely to work for him. Not to mention he used a knee tap for that takedown on Rich. Franklin is more or less a jack of all trades but master of none type fighters. He's very well rounded but not great at anything in particular. To say Minotoro wins this fight via superior striking technique is something I have no problem with. My only argument is that Rich is in no way "too small" for the Light Heavyweight division.

| Regardless of the outcome, i'm very happy to get a chance to see these two fight. I'm definitely making the trip out to philly to see this stacked card
LHW: Antônio Rogério Nogueira vs. Rich Franklin MW: Vitor Belfort vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama MW: Jorge Rivera vs. Alessio Sakara BW: Michael McDonald vs. Nick Pace MWt: Rafael Natal vs. Riki Fukuda WW: Dennis Hallman vs. Brian Ebersole

I don't know if I'd call that stacked. While I'm going to enjoy the hell out fo the main event, it is just 2 borderline top 10 LHWs that are no where near a title shot. The co main is solid enough, but after that it drops off quite a bit. Hopefully another big fight gets added.

| Has that been announced as the Main Event?
I see them putting at Mayhem vs. TBA on this card, but that's just me.

Anderson and Machida will probably help him out a lot in the lead up to the fight.
