You just want to see "Gina" Gina has some talent so don't get me wrong here guys. I just think there is a big gap between her and Cyborg and I don't see her fighting for a title ever again after being gone. I think it is disrespectful to all the other fighters to let her jump ahead of them when she is fighting a can after the layoff. They should've put it on Facebook and went after more female viewers imo. Not too mention I really don't care at all about her fight.

Her opponent is not a can. A 4-1 record is pretty good in the women's division. All finishes. Only lost to Julie Kedzie who is ranked in the top ten at both 135 and 145. And who is she jumping ahead of? Who are all these chicks Gina is disrespecting? Last I looked the line of girls running away from Cyborg is longer than her list of challengers. Cyborg is going to take a fight outside the promotion because they can't find a suitable opponent. Even if some of these other girls where lining up to fight her, based on both profile and skill, Gina is pretty much at the front of the line anyway with a single win. Also, do you forget how good Gina was? Other than Cyborg, she is the baddest bitch in MMA.

| The fight should of been Carano vs Nunes. That's the main card fight. I don't like Gina vs Sarah main card, it's like Walker vs Carson, instead of Walker vs a fighter, or another better fight. It's going show first.
They want to give Gina a freshie, Haywire is coming out in a couple of months.

| Gina hasn't fought in two years guys. Giving her to Amanda Nunes would be bad fight promotion. Don't try this at home. | |

| Getting Amanda and Gina wins and then matching them up is the right thing to do. You want as much hype as possible and you want the fighters to be performing as well as possible. So it makes sense to me. | |

| Right.... But Gina vs Nunes is the main card fight. Especially since this is a big card with big fights. The show fight, not so big.
Also, do we forget how good Gina is?

Also, do we forget how good Gina is? Yeah I get the gripe that there are undercard fights being snubbed because of this. If they had something like the UFC's SPIKE prelims this wouldn't even matter. Going to the fights live it really wouldn't matter. But hopefully they find a way to show us all the fights.

| Also, Amanda is fighting 135 now. After she KO'd Julia Budd she said she was dropping down to 135 for several fights before fighting Cyborg(aka a complete division packed with skilled fighters like Marlos, Liz, Meisha, Akano and Sarah together are less scary than a potential clash with The Borg). Gina could never make 135 in her wildest dreams and if she could she'd drop too.
In fact, I wish she could. Conviction, Takedown, Fight Girl Monster, Kaufman, The Lioness of the Ring, Girl-Rilla and Rumina makes for a serious fucking division. Shayna Baszler has been on a solid winning streak since her last Showtime stint and should probably be infused back into the mix as well.

Also, do we forget how good Gina is? Gina vs anyone is a maincard fight. There is a reason Coker, White, Shelby, Silva and the Fertittas are in this business and not us. Let them men work.

| Gina vs anyone is a show. That's what they are selling and it is not for mma fans, it's pop. Who is cyborg fighting? | |

Yeah but they aren't making their decisions based on us(hardcore fans). They are doing it because pushing Gina gets them more money then pushing Wilcox or JZ right now.

That is my point bro... Besides, LW's grow on trees. Gina is one of the best female fighters ever. She is ten times the star. I'd much rather see her than LW fights between nonranked fighters. Only JZ is even ranked at LW and that is 24. Men, please hold your criticism for this type of fight promotion. Ask any other maincard fighter and they'd much rather fight on a Gina card than a Wilcox or Noons card, I promise. Criticize the fact two less relevant HW fights are featured in place of a LW title eliminator. That is a bad call right there.

| I'll always be for a better fight over protecting money. Why the fuck shouldn't I be? I'm not about te be sitting around saying, 'well these fights suck but they are better than good fights because the promoter is gonna make more money'. This is a great example. Could of had two top female fighters square off(which would of been bank all the same also) and set up a match with the champ, she is still in mma right? They are close to using the celeb gloves here again at the cost of a better fight and true core audience. | |

| Which fights would you say are "ranked" higher? The 1st fight on a PPV or the free fights on SPIKE? For example what is the more important fight, Alves vs Story or Torres vs DJ? | |

I would switch Jorge vs Stann with DJ vs Torres. I think DJ vs Torres is featuring the higher ranked fighters and the winner of that fight could be in line for a title shot. If not then damn close to it. But Stann vs Jorge is not far behind.

| I could get on board with that. I look at the fight as Santiago's only obstacle to fighting Silva. He wins, he should be fighting for the belt next. Not anyone else. | |

I like my fight promoters to make profits because then it means future fights can continue to be promoted. WMMA is in a very tricky place. It needs to be profitable and draw interest for Zuffa to continue to devote big dollars too it. Gina is coming off a two year layoff. Fighting Amanda Nunes would be a retarded/ridiculous comeback fight. She needs a tune up before she is thrown immediately back into contention. If she is to have a shot against Borg she needs to train and fight a bit first to gain the required momentum. Further, Nunes and her manager have said many times they are leaving the weight class. Nunes is fighting 135 now. Her opponent is Julie Kedzie who is top ten in both 35 and the 45 pound classes. That is still a great fight. There are no celeb gloves here. Gina has a 7-1 record and her opponent a 4-1 record. Hardly a squash match given the scenario. If Amanda wins she could decide to move back up to 45 to fight Gina, or if Julie wins she could move back up to rematch Gina(Gina beat her once already). This is A+ WMMA promotion. Gina vs Amanda would have been a bad call because A. It is unfair to Gina to give her such a dangerous opponent with that much time off. Doing so would also be a ridiculously stupid business decision. B. Creates two fights WMMA fans want to see with having Gina and Amanda fight on the same card against other opponents instead of just one. C. Gives Julie Kedzie an opportunity as well, helping to strengthen the division. Gina vs Amanda is hardly the super fight you think it is at the moment, but should they both win here, then it would be worth exploring. I am sure Nunes would move back up for a go with Carano.
