Rumored UFC 105 Main Event

It is strongly rumored that Randy Couture will return to the octagon in the main event at UFC 105 opposite Brandon Vera in a light heavyweight showdown. After weeks of scrambling for main events and coming up short, the UFC turned to Couture, who was willing to fight the best fighter they could find at 205 pounds.

The UFC originally approached Couture with a bout against Rashad Evans, and Couture accepted, but Evans turned the fight down. Couture is one of the biggest names to ever appear on a UFC Spike TV show.

The rumor was confirmed by reliable sources close to a number of parties early Sunday morning.

It's an interesting match up, but still glad that 105 is gonna be on Spike.

RIP Vera

Randy has a chance since he is strong where Vera is strong at when it comes to wrestling and clinchwork, and since Vera doesn't hit extremely hard, but I'd expect a lot of "changing of the guard" type post fight press conference babble from everyone after Vera puts the old man down.

Randy gets his hands on Vera and Vera crumbles.

That's certainly one of the fights at LHW that I would favor Randy in

It's one of the only one he has a chance in.

seems like the UFC ppv's just keep getting worse and worse with the main events. With the exception of a title fight every now and then.

Wonder why Rashad turned down the chance to face Randy does he respect him to much ?

I am just glad the UFC finally found a decent main event for the card.

Rashad knows he'd knock Randy into retirement. That would be brutal.

Your right I should be thanking Rashad for turning it down I do not want to see Randy get KO'd at 205lb.

I'm usually not one to complain about main events but I feel like neither of these guys are top 10 at 205. Sure I think it is an interesting match up with Randy having the star power he does, but overall this is not a way to headline a PPV. Now a Spike show is a different story.

Vera is like my 10. Randy is unranked at LHW. Head scratcher here.
