Kenny Florian vs. Diego Nunes in the works for UFC 131

In my opinion the FW division is the worse by far. The 2nd worse is MW.

You obviously need to learn more. You act like it's Jose Aldo and 10 other rejects that make up the FW division. There are some talented fighters at FW and it's getting better by the second. I have never said it's that bad so don't exaggerate the situation. I just don't think it's as deep as other divisions.

I really like the BW division and think it's much much deeper.

Well that fight wont be happening so there is no point talking in mythical fights. We will see Florian vs Nunes so that should answer some questions.

Of course Kenny would have next, they're out to make Aldo into as big a star as his skills merit

I agree. Aldo will beat Florian and get the rub he deserves. It's the biggest fight they can make at 145 without Edgar dropping down.

Yeah for the casual fans or the fans that don't know much about the FW division. But that doesn't make Kenny any more deserving of the title shot, but that never stopped the UFC from giving him one in the past.

That guy we mentioned before, Chad Mendes. 10-0, 5-0 in the UFC/WEC. You have couple other guys floating around the top but Mendes seems like the most deserving. Let Kenny fight someone like Manny vs Tyson winner or Cub vs Koch winner, something like that. Let someone earn a shot.

Poirier vs Yahya winner would be good too.

The guys who have fought and won to establish themselves in that division. Nunes and Mendes above all others right now, then Koch and Proier. Florian is in that two win group, get two good wins and yeah, then talk about a fight for the belt(Florian, Manny, Yahya, Grispi, Sung, Omigawa, etc.,.)

What has Florian done to be worthy of a FW title shot?

Chad Mendes is deserving of a shot but the UFC wants to make Aldo into a star. He wont achieve that by beating Mendes. He will though if he destroys Florian.

Did you read my other post? Besides what makes Kenny any more deserving if Porier beats Yahya? He would have beat Grispi, taking away the title shot he was suppose to have and then beating a tough Yahya would make him 3-0 at FW in the UFC/WEC.
But all I was saying is any of the 3 matchup winners I named would be a good next fight for Kenny and if he won then I would have less of a problem with Kenny getting a shot if he beat Nunes and 1 of the winners of the fights I named.

It's better for the division if Florian gets the next title shot.

Yahya has lost 2 out of his last 3 so beating him wont get you closer to a title shot.

Damn Freak, take a closer look at Yahya. He just beat MTB and if he beats Poirier after that he will be right there in the mix. He also hold a win over Eddie Wineland who was a former Champion that gave Faber a good fight. Yahya is a solid opponent and if he beats Porier after beating MTB he will be right up there.

Yahya also holds a win over current challenger Hominick.

He has still been solid in that division and a win over him does put anyone closer to a title shot. Plus we are talking under the assumption that he wins his next fight. You want Kenny to have a shot because of his name and not what he has done in the cage and damn sure not what he has done at that weight class.

Glad to know you care more about how many billions Zuffa makes over what is actually right for the dudes who are responsible for padding their pockets.

I prefer MMA to be a legit sporting competition as opposed to sports entertainment. Where earning worth is based on the merits of your actions as an athlete in your sport not how many people know your name.
