Joe Frazier - In my opinon, nobody has ever executed their game plan better than Joe Frazier. He took his lethal wrecking ball of a left hand and planned his whole style around it. Has the highest duck/dip rate % of any HW Champion. Starting at 2:40 watch Ali miss 12 consecutive punches.
Muhammad Ali - no explanation needed
Jack Johnson - If you know about what happened in America when Jack Johnson became Heavyweight Champ this video is awesome. Footage is a 100 years old and you can clearly see how great Johnson was.
Joe Louis in HD no more needs to be said
Floyd Patterson - Fastest Heavyweight ever (hands wise) says Muhammad Ali. Youngest HW CHamp ever (at the time) and first to ever regain the HW title. starting at 50 second mark watch his famous gazelle punch which Tyson mastered.
Floyd Mayweather

its funny how bad Floyd schooled Mosley for trying to use the shoulder roll on him, FLoyds a master and can roll and stop a right hand with his shoulder.
Mosley couldnt and FLoyd exploited it all ngiht coming over the left shoulder nailing right hands all ngiht

Frazier had the misfortune of running into Foreman,George just ruined him.One of the all-time greats.People forget how easily he beat Ali in their first fight.

spot fuckin on man, its a damn near greek tragedy no one remembers that Joe Frazier absolutely clowned Ali (closest Ali ever was to his prime in a loss) and Im not talking oh he won rounds close, Frazier hit Ali when ever he wanted and slipped damn near every punch for a while, easily won 11 rounds and scored a knockdown on the, "Greatest"
Foreman was all wrong for Joe, think if Joe was like this era of boxers, Yank Durham flat out told Frazier, dont fight Foreman, he's all wrong for you it's a mistake. We live in the day where the fucking number 1 and 2 Pound for pound fighters in in the same damn division and we cant make the fight happen.
There won't be anymore Joe Fraziers because the crop we have today is to busy protecting their alphabet belts. Frazier fought Foreman because he is a MAN and wanted to test himself against the object he was told he could not defeat. He paid for it dearly, in possibly the most crushing defeat any heavyweight champion has taken, and what did he do? He fought Foreman again.
Think we could have gotten Willard 20 feet from Dempsey a 2nd time? Think Jeffries would have rematched Jack Johnson for all the white money in the nation? We saw Mike Tyson turn down a guaranteed, obligated 20+ million to avoid being in a ring with Lennox Lewis again. Joe Frazier was one of the greatest heavyweights of all time and most importantly, he ducked no man. Not many champions can say that.
Ray Robinson had Charley Burley, Tyson had damn near everyone (Bowe, Foreman, etc.), Mayweather and Pac cough cough, Frazier fought em all, Ali (3 times,), Foreman (2 times), Bonavena, Jimmy Ellis, Buster Mathis, Jerry Quarry and Bob Foster. Only person on that list that he didn't beat was Foreman.
And it's sad, because your right, That one damn loss has cast a stain on the legacy that Joe Frazier deserved.
For another time.....When we think of the great heavyweights, Larry Holmes should be at the top of the list. Its sad, the mans articulate (compared to the others), in good health (compared to the others) and was one of the best of all time.

Great post bird, not much more can be added that you have not mentioned already. The only guy besides Foreman that Frazier had problems with was Bonavena, who I believe deserved the win over Joe in their first fight.Joe would come back to win a hard fought 15 round decision in the rematch.

I personally think the way to save boxing from the alphabet mess there is right now, is someone with alotta money, cretes their own boxing org, and gets the 1-6 in each division to jump ship, have tournaments in every division, we figure out who the real champ is and the org's belts mean nothing.
Its funny cause now a days fighters are so worried about losing their titles, when they do lose them, half the time its to underdogs that they thought would be an easier night than someone else in the division.
