Exactly, Kenny was given enough. He is getting up there in age. Even if he loses he always has a job in the UFC.

Mendes vs Aldo hands down. I prefer the challengers to earn their shot. It would also make me sick to see Kenny be given another gift. If Kenny was a former Champion, maybe he could get away with a title shot off a loss, maybe then he could pull that move.

A Faber/Cruz fight might of got all the kids wet, but Faber wasn't granted an immediate unearned title shot at bantam weight. They made him fight Mizugaki and are now making him fight Wineland. Faber was much more at Featherweight then Kenny ever was as a Lightweight.

Well he probably wouldn't have to go through Wineland if it wasn't for the injury. But good point about Faber not getting an immediate shot. Kenny has never done shit.

It's part of the value, what fight would you raher see? personally I think you're just trying to argue for no reason as you know you'd arther see Kenny fight Aldo over Mendes.

It isn't like he's a middle of the pack LW dropping, he's a top 10 LW dropping, already mentioned in a potential Aldo fight which Aldo wants. Faber got Mizugaki not Torres or Wineland first, give Kenny a tuneup then Title fight.

Faber was champion. When was Kenny champ? Faber was the face of the WEC when he was CHAMPION. Kenny has been given enough gifts for someone that was never a champion, no other non-champion gets that treatment.

The disagreement is I think winning has more merits to being a contender then buy potential. Is that so wrong?

It's oh so right.

Kenny is a top ranked LW, already talked about by Aldo as a desirable fight. And Faber being Champ isn't overly important here, he had lost 3/5 fights, the situations of top fighter dropping are similar here. They want to build up the fighter for the Tite shot, but not give him too dangerous a fight, Faber is facing Wineland only cause Cruz is out.

Overall, point is, I'm not matching up a top ranked LW in a dangerous style matchup when trying to build him up for a Title shot, the division needs a KenFlo type guy to stepup to face Aldo who is running through everyone, the FW division has been looking thin until Kenny and Griffin dropped. But think what you want....

Buy potential is only a small part of my arguement, stale division and lack of quality challengers is a larger part.

GSP is not the most deserving MW for a title shot. He would probably lose a contender fight IMO at MW.

My argument is consistent to both. Fighters need to earn title shots at that weight class. Get to the #2 spot and you get to challenge for the title. That's it.

Kenny is worthy now, but there are bad matchups for most fighters, when you could potentially setup Aldo vs Florian with one win, you don't want to potentially kill that. I could sign Nick Diaz to the UFC then give him the worst style matchups possible, but then I kill great other fights.

I understand your point, best fight best to see who is next, makes sense, but Aldo vs KenFlo is very very good for that division, you want that to happen and not kill the fight completely.

You don't kill great fights that way, you create new, often better, fights because the winner is more often then not, better than the loser.

I'm high, I can fail all I want! lol, GSP vs Anderson would be for the title. Seriously, the argument holds true. GSP has not proven he is worthy to challenge for the MW title IMO. Maybe he should fight Jake at MW?

Kenny is worthy how? Is every top 10 LW worthy of a FW title shot? Even coming off a loss?

He lost to a top 10 P4P fighter who just fought the LW Champ to a draw, not exactly a bad loss. And he's been a long time top 10 ranked LW, sometimes in the top 5. In a very stale FW division, a top 10 ranked LW dropping down is Title shot worthy.
