| Reem vs Werdum is set? as in signed and ready to go?
Fedor vs Barnett & Reem vs Werdum early in 2011 would def help us overlook the rough stretch that was the SF hwy division in 2010.
I don't think Fedor vs Sergei would help the critics be as forgiving.

| Better be Barnett. Throwing Sergei in with Fedor or even Barnett, Bigfoot, Overeem, etc when it's been so long since he's fought and was last seen incredibly out of shape would be irresponsible.
Fedor vs. Barnett is a good fight. It's one people want to see and it makes sense for both of them right now.
Hope the news is true about Werdum vs. Overeem. It means Strikeforce did the right thing.
Sergei should probably fight Arlovski or del Rosario...or i think Cormier is ready to take a leap.

| Sergei is a good "tune up fight" kind of guy. If Fedor fights him than it should be clear he's coming to the UFC. | |

The UFC won't allow him to do both K1 and MMA.

Because he has only recently joined the list of credible top ten guys. And that is with a recent list of questionable opponents. Plus he likes to stay busy in K-1

Plus he likes to stay busy in K-1 Not to mention he has like three more fights left on his contract not counting options the title might bring. UFC tried to get him in early 2009 before he signed a new one with Strikeforce. K-1 was the deal breaker.

Yawn at Fedor/Barnett They tried to get him after Pride and later Affliction fell, but this is different. If they go forward with the final fight on his deal without a renegotiation with SF, that is a clear signal that Fedor is ready to shop around(negotiate with the UFC)

But as far as contracts go I see no difference. He has never done one thing to indicate that he will fight in the UFC and this is no difference.

| That isn't true. After the last round of negotiations fell through both sides have at various points conceded demands, and there has been backdoor negotiations with M-1, Fedor and the UFC since the SF deal was signed that all parties deny.
The writing is on the wall.

No. He's pretty new to K-1 and has already defeated two of the most highly regarded K-1 fighters...if anything, K-1 might be more important to him than MMA.

No. He's pretty new to K-1 and has already defeated two of the most highly regarded K-1 fighters...if anything, K-1 might be more important to him than MMA. He wants to be the first fighter to win a HW title in K1 and MMA. Once he wins the K1 title(or loses badly for that matter) he may decide to fight MMA full time. Especially since he Dream/K1 has been struggling mightily and hasn't been paying fighters from his gym(possibly he himself as well) on time. The money is in MMA. SF and the UFC will have more stable reliable pay going forward if K1 can't keep paying their stars. He beat Hari once and lost the rematch by TKO and beat a flabby overrated fighter who was chasing him with hooks and no other techniques. I think his K1 performances strictly speaking have been somewhat overrated.

The writing is on the wall. Oh, well I'm not privy to the backdoor meetings between M1 and Dana. lol
