| Brock is to the hardcore(at least some of the) fan, what Kimbo was to the casual fan.
It doesn't matter that the dude is 100% exposed, they keep believing him to be this unbeatable monster.

| Who was the main force arguing in the face of everyone Brock was never that good all along? Who? OU was my back up but there needs to be a "wolf told you so" disclaimer in every thread.
Brock being at 2 is awful. He isn't top five and NEVER WAS.

| At best you can put Cain, Fedor, Werdum, and JDS in front of him. He proved to have a better gas tank than Carwin and subbed him regardless of if you think he's better. Not seeing any other credible names in the bottom half of the top 10 either. Overeem doesn't fight enough | |

| Overeem's MMA record is an even bigger house of cards than Brock's, but his K1 experiences proves his striking is the best in the business and also answers his chin questions that linger from his jobber-to-the-lhw-stars days in Pride. Unlike Lesnar he has a lot of MMA experience and his very well rounded. He doesn't turtle when clipped(presumably, though he has had problems when hit in the past)
Overeem, as you men all know, I have long criticized. Before Brett Rogers he wasn't anywhere near my top ten. But his demolishing of Rogers(who now of course has been retconned as never good, thus is the way of MMA, Overeem isn't good, Rogers is just bad when a fight ago "wow he looked good even in a loss to the GOAT") proves he can defeat top ranked talent. Overeem "feels" realer to me than Brock does. I always felt like Brock was a paper tiger, but lately Overeem to me just seems more legit. We really don't have anything to base it on besides the Rogers fight in terms of MMA records, but imo I think Overeem would wreck Lesnar in an ugly, inhuman fashion.
But let us never forget Overeem has made himself this "scary" by avoiding big(MMA, he fights legit K1 guys) names and destroying cans. And let us never forget Fedor never ducked this fool, and that until now he didn't deserve to be on the same card as Fedor, much less his opponent.
Both Brock and Overeem were charged with being overrated by the wolfcourt. The verdict is in on Lesnar and he is guilty on all charges. Overeem may not be so cut and dry of a case. We will see.

| why do some say brock was exposed. exposed of what really. striking? so no one knew coming into his fight with carwin or cain he had little knowledge of how to strike.
imo brock does belong at #2. not just sherdog however mmaweekly, fightmatrix and other sites have him as well. would he be able to beat everyone under that #2 ranking. i dont think so however he is at number 2 for having 3 wins in a row over top 5 competition. he just lost to one of the most complete fighters in the division and a guy with the highest striking percentage in the division. not even overeem has the stats that cain does. cain actaully has better standing kos from his feet than overeem does in mma. who else can really beat brock. carwin already lost to him. mir did too. nog is not what he once was. werdum only skyrocketed to the top cus of fedor. overeem really hasnt had a win over a top guy other than rogers who couldnt even last in the top ten for a year. jds would be interesting to see and has the skill to ko brock however his ground remains a question. fedor might be able to beat brock but that is something we will never see so why bother to even mention him.
brock has alot of work to do to ever be at the level that cain was at last sat however the rest of the division still has a very tough opponent the day of tomorrow when they fight brock no matter who it is. the dude wants to fight and showed in early in the fight against cain.im no cain fan but the way he looked on sat was impressive no matter who it would of been against.
