Here's the Marvin we miss.

HAGLER: Well you know, that was a tough time in a great era in a sense because I believe that all these guys could fight. You weren’t going to have a field day like with what they’re doing today. I mean all these guys had like over forty fights or whatever, where these guys now today have only like twenty fights and they’re world champions? I mean, come on! Most of the fighters today, I think they hold the title from about six months to one year and then all of a sudden they lost it. So I still feel as though for the throwbacks in the old days that that was the best lesson for me, to go through the hard way, which I did, and then when you retire it’s knowing that you have fought the best in the world. You got nothing else to prove.

While we're on the subject of Hagler,here is a bit of trivia for you all.Marvin said of this man,"he was the toughest opponent I've ever faced in the ring."Mustapha Hamsho is not the correct answer.I'll check back with you cats when I get back from work.This may be a tough one.

No idea who Hagler thought his toughtest opponent was but the interview was great. It was nice to hear from him after all these years. Last time I saw him, which was about 5 years ago on HBO, he looked great.

Marvin was referring to the late Kevin Finnegan.The man was stopped on cuts twice against Marvin,but never was knocked off his feet.

... and those that recognize the difference between the two. Fans with fighters who like to duck other fighters are often times in denial. The term "Flomo" (One who ducks an opponent) might become a household phrase for boxing fans. That would be ashame, seeing that his fans would be oblivious as to why that materialized.

I have to think that if JLC can beat Floyd so can an ATG like Hagler. Hagler might litteraly kill Floyd.
