Werdum says Reem a step back - Wants rematch with Fedor

I gotta say I love the kids attitude, but careful of what you wish for. It's not like SF has a huge stable, so there's a good chance he gets both for his next two fights.

This is awesome and I just gained about a 100 times more respect for this dude!! To fight Fedor is 1 thing but to win and then give him a rematch in the next fight is just ballsy!. Werdum good luck bro LOL.

Good words. But, no matter how flash that fight was or where his perspective(right or wrong) places those around him, he should fight Overeem. Take the belt then make Fedor your priority once again. It's not hard to imagine Fedor being interested in having a chance to atone for his previous mistake should the opportunity present itself and be feasible.

Strikeforce won't set up an immediate rematch...unless they want to back themselves in another corner...no matter who wins, Strikeforce loses because i think they have one more fight on their contract. Werdum has to fight Overeem, so if he wins, his championship clause is in effect....and yes, SF has clauses for all their fighters except the EliteXC refugees and Fedor.

Also, if Overeem is a step back for him because he beat him 4 years ago in the second round of a fight he was otherwise losing...then Fedor is a step back for him.

Fight Overeem. Fedor can go ahead and fight Bigfoot or the winner of AA-Sergei..or Babyface.

Werdum isn't scared. He just beat the best HW in the World. I'll have to watch his first fight with Reem though, never saw it.

Only in MMA are fighters called scared for wanting to prove their win over the best fighter in recorded history was not a fluke by having an immediate rematch, in favor of beating some dude you already beat who has gained a shit ton of illegal muscle illegitimately in the mean time.

The closest example I can think of is an alternate universe where Matt Serra is called a chicken for not wanting to rematch Yves Edwards who has become a true middleweight with "horse meat" immediately after he knocked GSP's head off.

Eh Werdum had other chances to fight Reem and didn't, scared maybe a strong word, but why wouldn't you fight the Champ especially after beating Fedor. He beat a different Reem in 06, it's 2010.

No one, Overeem, Fedor, Werdum even cares about that Strikeforce title. Why would they? Fedor was the lineal HW MMA champion of all time. Some Strikeforce title that went undefended for like 2 and a half years is meaningless to all parties.
