How many wins is Little Nog away from a title shot?

I know there will be a knee-jerk reaction to say he needs to beat a contender first, but I say if he is dominant over Brilz(18-3 career record, identical to Minotoros), based on how Rampage(Marvin Eastman?), Shogun and Rashad got their title shots, he should be next in line after Rashad-Rampage winner.

He completely deflated Luiz Arthur Cane who was one of the brightest young fighters in the UFC with ease and is riding a winning streak full of impressive stoppages. Should Shogun still be champion after his next defense, the back story would be very marketable. Don't be surprised to see Little Nog and Shogun's Pride battle to be featured on Spike and UFC.com regularly.


The duel comebacks of these old Pride rivals should not be wasted. MMA magic is made from matches like these.

Possibly only one if the UFC would be willing to hold him out all the way until Shogun vs Page/Shad is done but I kind of doubt that. Showing the UFC countdown show followed by a presentation of their first fight in Pride would be gold though

Don't you think Cane, Brilz and what we have seen of him during his career is plenty enough when all Page had to do was fight Marvin Eastman? I know Nog suffered a bad KO in Pride to Soko, but Rampage was KO'd badly numerous times and still walked into a title fight.

Nog's run as of late has been dominant and has included two then sherdog top ten fighters in Cane and Matyushenko. He won mostly decisions in Pride, but he has been knocking people out left and right since he returned to MMA from his successful stint in boxing that started after the Soko loss.

Actually if he signed to fight for the title right now I wouldn't blink for a moment.

ive seen enough of lil nog to say give him the shot know, but i think 2 more fights would solidify him as the nuber 1 contendor

Then why does he need to "solidify" himself if he already may be better? Only Anderson Silva is a more compelling match up for Shogun right now.

if it was up to me i say let him go for the title and i would have let him before he beat Cane

just saying realistically he will have 2 fights imo

Brilz then a top contender. It's not about Lil Nog solidifying his position, he just needs more exposure to make a title shot more lucrative for the UFC.

Well timing might force him to fight 2 fights. Shogun still has to fight the winner of Rampage vs Rashad. Who knows when that fight will be. So in the down time I think the UFC will make lil Nog fight 1 more time.

Ali has a point about building him up by giving him a name. Thing is though, he has his brothers name and face, the first fight with Shogun, one and hopefully soon two dominant wins over good young UFC talent already.

Two good Affliction KO's is got a few thousand American eyes also. I don't think he is as much of an unknown as a lot of people keep describing him as.

I don't think it would take much to get US fans up to speed on Chinozo and Ninja if they came to the UFC either.

Why don't we just get Lil Nog to KO Chuck. That seems to be the going rate for a title shot doesn't it?

I think he's very close to a title shot, one to two more wins and he should be there.

Would anyone have an issue with him getting one immediately if the Rampage Rashad winner was a no-go?

Honestly, I would rather Lil Nog got the shot ahead of next weeks winner. I just want to see Rua and Lil Nog go to war again
