Bob Hoskins Retires From Acting, Has Parkinsons Disease

apparently he has Parkinsons disease, very sad to hear, he has always been on of my favorite actors since I was a little kid (Who Framed Roger Rabbit) and IMO is one of the great underrated actors of our time.

Best of luck to him and I hope he can still live a happy life.

He had a good run.

tai think I read that he was in 80 movies, and shit the only one that sucked that I can think of was Mario Bros.

he was good in more recent movies like Enemy at the Gates and HollyWoodLand

He came really close to playing Capone in The Untouchables before De Palma threatened to quit the movie because the studio wouldn't cast DeNiro.

Eddie Murphy, I saw a cool interview where he said that was his biggest regret but he said Hoskins did such a good job, he said whenever it is on tv he watches it.

Hmm, Bob actually resembles Capone facially and body type. I can easily see him nailing that part. Can't complain about De Niro's performance in that movie though.

completely agree, DeNiro added weight for the role, I think Hoskins would have really been more natural.

I was actually thinking the same thing when I read about Bob almost playing the part, he really does resemble Capone.

Great scene, probably Bob's best.

If he had got the capone role, it would of been career changing. Bob, was good though.
