Where does Hendo rank all-time?

With a win tonight over the best HW in the history of the sport (even if he is past his prime), multiple titles in two different weight classes, King of Kings winner in Rings...where does his resume put Hendo among the all-time greats of the sport?

High up there. A real legend with the other obvious all time great names of the sport. A definite top ten in my book.

This fight could have never taken place, or he could have got knocked out Tim Sylvia status...Dan Henderson is easily a top 10 all time mixed martial artist...he's still a contender. Hope to see him in the UFC again...Dan can go as long as Couture did, and he'll be a better old man fighter than Couture ever was at any age.

I agree 100%. Dan was all-time before this fight happened.

I think he's closer to #5 than he is #10 on an all-time list. He doesn't look to be slowing down at all either. His last 3 fights have been magnificent performances that have truly shown off his clinch and wrestling skills and all ended with that fucking bomb of a right hand

He has lost clearly to Shields, Rampage and Anderson in the past few years. He is not top 5.

Definite argument for top 5. Few people have career resumes of his level of excellence. An d that if may of reached it's peek tonight after all this time, yeah.

Dan's first nine fights took place on only four separate nights with the last 3 all on the same night and all against dangerous competition.

A couple of Rings tourneys, Brazil Open tourney and UFC 17 MW tourney to start out his career, champion of all of them.

It was 3 years into his career before he had only one fight on fight night and that was a decision loss to a dangerous circa 2000 Wanderlei. He avenged that fight winning a 205 pound Pride title in the process and in violent fashion along with winning the Pride 183 pound Gran Prix.

He has lost a few fights to elite fighters in the sport but has since comeback with four huge KO's en route to yet another 205 championship and now a victory in the biggest fight of his life.

If he was in his prime right now and fighting in the UFC I don't think he would ever win a title.

Big Nog is understandable because he is a HW but Dan has lost to too many guys and not beaten enough great fighters in their prime to be top 10. At least 5 LHW's in the UFC right now plus Anderson Silva would've beat Cavalcante and Fedor.

borderline top 10, not top 5 among goat. people also seem to forget how he looked against franklin and what he did in the third round in their fight. one thing for sure then, had it been a title fight hendo would of been 2-3 in his last trip to the ufc

Mount Rushmore for me is Chuck, GSP, Hughes, Fedor, and Anderson. (couldn't narrow it to 4)

The next tier of guys includes Wand, Dan, Couture possibly Penn, Franklin, & Rampage. (need to think about it more)

dont agree with shogun ,nog,rampage or cro cop being ahead of franklin. if anything i consider them on the same level as franklin. the others your right. also if not chuck who do you believe is the goat lhw

Who has Franklin beat? he is so overrated it's comical.

Wanderlei, Rampage and Shogun at their peak are better than Chuck. Chuck dominated the UFC when the best LHW's in the world were fighting in Pride. Rampage came and destroyed him easily. Chuck couldn't cut it when he fought in Pride.

Tito might be deserving, but his defenses were weak and he couldn't beat Chuck & Randy.

I old guys are just old. What they did was nice, but I don't rank them great all time.

Shogun is def in tier 2. Nog is close too. Cro Cop.... ehh.

best lhws in pride? a prime wandy who had many given fights in pride lost to tito, the same tito that lost to chuck and randy. didnt a prime rampage and shogun lose to forrest . styles make fights and chucks didnt help him aganist page, no denying that. im not gonna even go into how corrupt and bad pride was at one point for imo page had his number however saying chuck couldnt cut it in pride is just silly.

Wanderlei wasn't in his prime in 2001 and Rampage got screwed by the judges against Forrest.

ah yeah , wandy was entering his prime. right after his tito loss he went on to have 3 of the biggest wins of his career over guy,saku and hendo. as for rampage. i think we already established that 6 out of 10 posters here agree that forrest won. it was a close fight but forrest beat a prime rampage. the same (actually better) rampage than the one from pride
