If I had to hazard a guess, because all the Champions are really great, I would say Rich Franklin or Randy Couture. Rich Franklin is a Great fighter, but as with most people, he couldn't figure out Silva. Couture, though beyond his prime, is probably the smartest fighter around and creates problems for all his opponents.

Dan Henderson is the only former UFC/Pride champ/tournament winner who has a chance. Maybe Sean Sherk.
Unless Machida gets injured, Page, Shad and Forrest's runs are over.

YEAH! I forgot all about Hendo! Hendo's career is catching its second wind. I see him as the ultimate Pain in the Ass for Silva or Machida.

Randy and Rampage both have a pretty good chance IMO.

I son't know Sooner? I have always thought Rampage, though a powerful striker, was a bit overrated. Randy of course, but Quinton? We will have to see after his fight with Rashad.

Rampage has only lost 1 time since coming into the UFC and that was a very close dec. loss. He beat Chuck before he went down hill, he beat Hendo, Wanderlei and a game Jardine. He is winning against tough guys right now, he has proven that he has a chin and he has power. I think he will own Rashad, but that is just my opinion.

Randy has no chance of becoming champ again. I doubt he gets another shot at Cock Chestnar, but IF he does, he will be older and Brock will be better.

Randy is no chance unless they create a new Cruiserweight division. I say only Rampage against Lyoto Machida. Franklin will never get close to another title unless Silva vacates the middleweight title then Franklin and Hendo will fight over it.

All I can say is I disagree, I think Randy beats Brock in the rematch. I think some people don't give Randy credit for how well he was doing before he got caught with a glancing blow to the back of his head. I know Brock will be better next time but I also think Randy will have a better feel for Brock. Randy was very competitive in that first fight, it seems like a lot of people don't acknowledged that.

Randy's older and Brock is better. Brock beats him by first round KO. Rampage hits hard but is one dimensional in his striking and has never KO'd any top fighter outside the first frame. Machida would hurt him severly.

I am with Sooner on Randy. Randy just seemingly gets better with age, though of course when he starts his decline, it is going to be brutal. As for Rampage, i recognize he has a chin and has powerful punches, but his technique is sloppy and his grappling is at best ok.

Tim Sylvia.
No but seriously I would pick Hendo. Of course I would love Franklin to win a belt but I don't think he has the best chance.

I think Rampage could hold the key to taking down Machida if he's not too sidetracked being Mr. T.
I think Hendo could possibly break through in either division. I think he could win the MW title in a Silva void division and I think he could also beat almost anyone at LHW not named Machida.
I think Franklin could get it back at MW after Silva moves on, but don't think he has the right tools to beat Machida, Rua or Rampage at LHW.
Hughes or Serra ar not taking down GSP... Sherk is not taking down Penn... Couture or Mir are not taking down Lesnar. Though Couture back at LHW with his kryptonite out of the picture might be interesting if he doesn't have to beat 3 top dogs to get a shot.

these heavyweights are abysmal. Gibbs is a decent jobber though. He might be in the UFC in one day.

I think Rampage can beat machida and I also think Shogun is going to give Machida all he wants. Funny Wolf u blast some of us for thinking Brock is unbeatable but u pretty much sound the same with Machida here.

I don't think Machida is unbeatable. Jon Jones and Steve Cantwell have striking styles that with several more years of seasoning would be dangerous since they're able to throw and defend fast, and able to mask and throw unorthodox things. Someone with the blazing speed of the old Wanderlei Silva/Vitor Belfort could have a chance, and a strong wrestler like a young Couture or possibly even Henderson. Obviously Anderson Silva as well.
Rampage has no chance, unless he stuck to a game plan that involved little of what Rampage is always known for these days- standing and trading with his boxing style telagraphed from a mile away.
People thing Brock's 3 years of MMA training and big muskluz make him unbeatable. That is just stupid.
