Lucas Matthysse workout

World-ranked junior welterweight contender and knockout artist Lucas Matthysse (27-0, 25 KOs) of Argentina began preparations this week, along side fellow countryman and current WBC middleweight champion Sergio “Maravilla” Martinez, at the World Crown Sports Training Center in Oxnard, CA for his next bout as he is set to return on Saturday November 6th and take on former undisputed welterweight champion and 2-time junior welterweight champion Zab “Super” Judah (39-6, 27 KOs) of Brooklyn, NY at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, which will be shown live on HBO’s ‘Boxing After Dark’.

In his last outing the undefeated Matthysse made quick work of Rogelio Castaneda, Jr. winning via first round knockout back in August of this year and prior to that defeated former world champion “Vicious” Vivian Harris via fourth round TKO in February.

Also being featured on HBO’s doubleheader is 3-time world champion Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (27-1-1, 18 KOs) of Gilroy, CA taking on 2004 U.S. Olympian and top lightweight contender Vicente Escobedo (22-2, 14 KOs) in a 10-round lightweight bout.

Judah vs. Matthysse is scheduled for 10-rounds for the NABO junior welterweight title and is being presented by Golden Boy Promotions, Main Events and Super Judah Promotions. Tickets priced at $53, $78, $103 and $253 (ringside) and can be purchased at Prudential Center Box Office, at www.Prucenter.com or by calling Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000.

what really? yeah one guy is Walter and the other is Lucas (brothers), theres pretty much no difference in talent though. Lucas struggled with Vivian harris for crying out loud. Both guys were/are solid contenders, but thats it.

Guerrero vs Escobedo could be a good scrap.... both guys have also been taken out of the Rings top 10 ratings at lightweight.

i had high hopes for escobedo coming out of the olympics but then he got handled by azuquita jimenez who is just an ok fighter. heck even rocky martinez beat azuquita but maybe if he beats guerrero que could get somehting going.

Escobedo is a scrub and always has been, he quit working with Nacho and just had the GBP hype behind him

Check his best win to date, a faaaaaded Kevin Kelley. I think Guerrero should walk over him and score a KO

Walter Mathysse held his own against Williams, they traded some serious shots for what like 10 rds before getting overwhelmed by Paul's attack. Then went on to get fucked up by Cintron lol

I agree that Zab should handle Lucas, was almost put out by Vivian
