| Sources close to the negotiations have advised BoxingScene.com that Paul Williams vs. Kermit Cintron is close to done for May 8 on HBO. The fight is probably going to take place at junior middleweight. Cintron is open to fighting Williams below 154-pounds - if Williams wants to move forward with a possible return to welterweight. 2009 was a very good year for both Williams and Cintron. Williams dominated Winky Wright for a decision win in a middleweight contest last April, and then won a majority decision over Sergio Martinez in a candidate for "fight of the year" in December. Cintron started the year with a controversial draw with Sergio Martinez, but then scored his biggest win in years when he pulled off an upset decision win over hot junior middleweight prospect Alfredo Angulo. Cintron ended the year with a fifth round knockout of Juliano Ramos in Puerto Rico. http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=25494 |

| not a bad fight at all.
God damn ALi Wandy looks like a Raptor in that picture
I think Paul Williams takes this one but should be fun to watch, its a good test since Cintron is big, will be alot like Williams vs Margarito IMO but not as close

| Be interesting to see if Cintron is able to land a bomb on Paul's chin. |

| If Cintron is able to hurt Paul at all then maybe they should thank their lucky stars Pavlik pulled out twice. |

| ya but IDK, Marco Antonio Rubio damn near went the distance, I just have alot of doubts about whether Pavlik is close to the same guy he was in 2007 | |

| Yeah I believe Hopkins made a huge dent in Pavlik's confidence but your power never leaves you. |

| I jsut dont know what to think anymore
did we overrate Pavliks power?
Your power never leaves, but your chin can
I am starting to think Jermain Taylors played a roll and led to us overhyping Pavliks power. Maybe he never was this great power puncher just a good 1-2 fighter
Lets think Pavliks best KOs are Taylor, Miranda, .............Lockett?????

| Nah Pavlik has power it was just his ability we overrated. He's extremely limited and one dimensional but gets by with his size, heart and power.
Paul has the ability to box circles around him but can he survive all 12 rounds ? |

| This fight is pretty self explanatory. Paul will box circles around him but if he leaves his chin on the table for Cintron to take off with a right anything could happen. Kermit can't stand fighting pressure fighters though so I expect him to be very overwhelmed in this fight. If he doesn't land something early to get his confidence going he will be stopped in the later rounds | |
