Andre Berto vs Freddy Hernandez set for Nov 27th

Promoter Lou DiBella has confirmed that WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto will indeed make the fifth defense of his title against Freddy Hernandez on an HBO televised tripleheader on November 27 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The fight will be paired with Juan Manuel Marquez vs. Michael Katsidis, who clash for the WBA/WBO lightweight titles, and the televised opener that has WBA super bantamweight king Celestino Caballero rising to super featherweight against Jason Litzau.

I'd never even heard of Hernandez before his name started being mentioned as a potential opponent for Berto.

He's fought on ShoBox a few times

Nothing great, but seems like he can punch and take one too

Yup, and I believe there's a good chance Mosley would have given him his first loss.

HBO must be buying into Berto and the Haiti disaster and trying to show how "racially sensitive" they are. Why else would they pay a chump like Berto, who can't draw flies to his fights, a million + to fight Hernandez?

I don't know bout the racial HBO stuff but HBO is always a few years behind and live on hope. They saw Berto beat the balls off off chumps three years ago and hope that he can look that good against top competition. That was three years ago and I don't think he can.
