| Subject: What fighter has retired the most ATG's? Thu Sep 30, 2010 3:11 pm | |
| Panther gave me an idea. I wonder who has retired the most all time great fighters? Anyone have a clue? |

| If I had to guess the answer is probably nobody. What I mean is how many ATG's are near retirement in 2-3 adjoining divisions in any decade-long period?
In an awful lot of cases what finally convinces a past it ATG to retire is not getting beaten by a good fighter, but instead getting beaten by a nobody. | |

| Sooner, I don't think ATGs would retire right after losing to a big name, though you ask an excellent question. How about, how many fighters ended (For all practical purposes) the careers of ATG,s? Now I can think of a few of those. | |

| Robinson retired Henry Armstrong who else?
Joe Louis retired Sharkey, basically retired Schmelling, and didnt he retire Conn in the rematch? | |

| bird.conn and schmeling had fights after louis and i dont feel sharkey was a all time great or a great fighter. | |
