So this is Leben's reward for that epic July? Weak. As. Fuck. A fun fight style wise but I don't see what the point is

Might be weak ranking wise, but this is a decent fight. Stann isn't gonna want to get all technical or anything, he will want to strike, no problem for Leban there, he likes to strike too. I got Leban via sub though in the third.

Yeah this fight is a big let down to me.

Chorky, this is definetly a very winnable fight for Stann but the point remains is that Leben knocked off an undefeated fighter and Akiyama in the same month. I believe, especially with a roster as stacked at UFC's that if you are on a win streak you continue to move up in competition. In his 3 fight win streak his competition has got stronger with each fight, now he's fighting somebody who's better than Jay Silva but not as good as Simpson and Akiyama. Set back. No good.

Jesus just for once I'd like to see the UFC listen to the fans and give us the fight we're crying out for

Well, Wand is out until early next year. Leben is not one to wait a half year for a fight if he's healthy. Otherwise, they would have booked that fight almost immediatly following Leben beating Akiyama.

After digesting this a bit, Im cool with it.

1)It should be a brawl.

2)This ain't a complete mismatch, Stann is a big 185er, he's 3-1 in his last 4,he's a former WEC champ, so he has a name, while Leben 4 all of his in the cage high drama is not on some much higher level of ability.

3)Does this set up Leben vs Wandy? cause thats the fight we all want, but Wandy is still walking around on crutches. Why not give Leben a winnable fight in the meantime?

Yeah but for an opportunity to face a legend like Wandi I'd be happy to wait a little. This fight does nothing for the fans or Leben's career.

I think Joe Silva is either trying to keep Leben busy or he is smoking fucking crack! I like Stann and have come to love Leben, but this does not look like a good fight for Brian.

An exciting win here keeps the Leben hype train at full speed. Waiting a year for wandy makes the hype toast go stale.

You are dead wrong. If you beat Stann it would do wonders for you.

I guess it will keep leben busy and in shape and a extra pay day never hurts.

Leben's chin will win him this fight, pulling for Stann though.

I like Leban for a lot of reasons. But I'm not gonna pretend the Chris is better overall and above most guys, defiantly Stann included. Chris is a guy for me to root for and celebrate his wins. His losses have never once been real surprising though because his best asset is his worst flaw. If he wins he does still stand to gain in that it adds to his streak and to his maybe more impressive year than any other fighter. Stann stands more to gain with a win still. It is a good match up
