So who gets the next Middleweight title shot?

If Sonnen is suspended then who gets the next shot at Anderson Silva?

Vitor Belfort? what about if Okami beats him? Marquardt? If Sonnen was on steroids when he beat Marquardt then that could've been the difference and Marquardt could've beaten a clean Sonnen. Jon Fitch maybe? If Koscheck pulls of the upset that would leave Fitch maybe to move up. Shields? He is the reigning Strikeforce Middleweight champion or maybe GSP moving up after he beats Koscheck?

They need Okami and Belfort to fight pronto and let that winner have the shot when Anderson returns to adequate fight health. Mardquardt might of fought a dirty Sonnen too but that is really tough in the here and now sense of things to start picking at. If his win over Phil had been impressive he might splash the conversation but it was more wtf than wow. I don't see any WW apart from GSP being feasible or deserving, though Shields is in reality. With the champ being injured there is time for the current members of the division to fight it out so another clear contender can emerge.

If Sonnen can't fight, I would announce for Nate. No he doesn't really deserve it, but you know damn well Chael will help get him ready.

It's got to go to the winner of Belfort/Okami imo. If the winner can't fight because of injury or whatever then call Nate up.

Nate would probably get Sonnens riod dealers number, grab a new tube of greese, and the belt would be his!

Belfort-Okami winner makes the most sense. Nate will have to win one more to get another shot...

Why LTFG? He did just win, unlike Maia. Maia had just got KO'd by Nate and got to fight, Nate definately has what it takes and he has seen the best way to kick Silva's ass. Let him get his shot.

Let's see... Nate also just got beat by Sonnen and is riding a whopping 1 fight win streak. Okami's last loss was also to Sonnen but he'd be riding a three fight streak if he beats Belfort. Belfort will be riding a six fight streak after he dispatches Okami. I'm not giving a guy the nod for a second title shot after one win when there's two guys fighting eachother who are more deserving of their first shot. If Anderson beats Belfort or Okami, Nate can prove he has what it takes 5 months later. Joe Silva and Dana have this one right...

Probaly Okami. Belfort has been sitting at home with undeserved #1 contender reservations for over a year and he's going to come back with likely ring rust and not get grinded into the mat and decision by Okami? Don't see it.

Anderson Silva vs. Yushin Okami II. UFC can use some of their revisionist history and suggest Okami dominated their first fight even worse than Sonnen dominated Silva until the triangle.

If Chael Sonnen passed his tests before there is no reason to assume he wasn't cheating anymore than we can assume Nate was by rubbing a towel on him.

Man the MW division is really thin right now. If it gets any thinner, they might have to do Silva/Franklin III or bring Lutter back to the UFC.
