| While I agree with captain that Cotto deserves a pass, I still wish he would face Cintron. I posted this in my own thread a couple days ago but I honestly believe that the Ring belt would be awarded to the winner that night. I believe Sergio will be removed from the JMW rankings following his MW defense and I think 1 vs 3 is often accepted when 1 has previously beaten 2. | |

I also think Cotto could outbox Angulo who was beaten in his first test. Who knows about kirkland he's been locked up. Cotto isn't a plodding lead foot.
+1
Cintron gets abused I doubt Cintron gets abused, especially with this war torn version of Cotto. |

This piece in Spanish says that Cotto will wait until next year and look towards fighting the winner of Pac-Tony or go after Berto He could go after Berto now, ugh well if he faces him next year I'll forgive Miguel. There has to be some injury theyre not disclosing. Otherwise Cotto could have owned October. I hope he goes after Berto and then Tony then retires.

Fuck really? Well there must have been a delay in recovery because now he doesn't even have a date for the rest of the year with decent people available.

| Top Rank wanted to make Chavez-Cotto, like you said, probably longer recovery time than they expected or Cotto wanting more time to heal - Quote :
- By Jhonny Gonzalez
Last month, WBA 154-pound champion Miguel Cotto underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder, which could prevent a possible fight with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on December 4. Gabriel Peñagaricano, Cotto's lawyer, said the surgery should not alter their plans for a Chavez fight at the end of the year.
"Regarding his plans, he wants to fight later this year. It will not affect him. It will not alter plans," said Peñagaricano to Fernando Reyes.
But at a recent Boxeo Boricua press conference in Puerto Rico, Cotto told a reporter that because of the shoulder surgery, he may not be able to start training until November. The training delay has not been confirmed.
Peñagaricano was reached for comment and appears confident that Cotto's plan to fight in December will not be affected.
"We have had preliminary discussions. We talked about fighting at the end of the year and discussed a few options for opponents. Chavez is one of them," insisted Peñagaricano. http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&opt=printable&id=30358

| Honestly the shoulder surgery isn't going to generate sympathy from me when Pascal went through the same thing but still dethroned Dawson. |

And by playing sports and following them for 30 yrs this stinks of the guy is behind schedule. Its a shoulder in boxing bad injury who wants to see a hurt fighter?? Harder to sell a fight when the guy is known to be hurt.

A fight you had no interest in. So, my point is Cotto was more than willing to fight on this date. So it's frustrating to see him sit out the rest of the year when we could be looking forward to Miguel Cotto vs Andre Berto/Kermit Cintron. |

I think the guy is hurt and they're keeping it under wraps.

No sense in training to fight a guy that just had shoulder surgery last month.

I am just annoyed that we won't be getting Cotto vs Cintron this year, I never claimed he was scared or ducking him. And the reason the Chavez fight was scraped was because Jr didn't want to train in the Philippines with Roach and Pacquiao. |
