Both guys are coming off a loss(though Cavalcante's was to Kyle), but are either guy interesting matchups?
Cavalcante was a hot propsect prior to that loss, he def needs a win in between(it's a blessing of sorts that Gegard will fight in dream and thus give Strikeforce a chance to prop up a contendor). Maybe one win doesn't do it, but 2 or 3 wins, could that set up a worthwhile fight for the last fight on Gegard's contract?
Kyle on the other hand, is a big 205er, obviously having just fought at heavy. he gut subed by a slick dude, but he was coming in on relatively short notice. His career record isn't great and aside from the Cavalcante and Irvin wins is lacking in names, but much like Cavalcante if he can rack up a win or two, he could be a somewhat respectable opponent.
Both guys like to stand and both guys have power, so at the least, one would expect that they could provide an entertaining bout.
Am I reaching too far here?
