| Has anyone ever seen a fighter go from the pinnacle to the dregs as fast as this guy? 43-0..undisputed Jr. Welterweight champion of the world. OK...loses to the p4p best fighter in the world...rebounds with wins over 2 middle of the road fighters. Then BLAM!!! Pacquiao sends him not only into retirement, but a vicious downward spiral. It's only been a year, and Hatton's already in line for a straight jacket or a Baker Act. The only other fighter to fall so fast was (of course, my favorite) Aaron Pryor, although Pryor fell while still the undefeated Champ. | |

He may or may not have been over rated (I've never been convinced or a big fan, but that might be my American bias showing), but he was on top of the division & lineal champ.

| I think his fall from grace has a lot to di with his substance abuse. He wasn't some naive sheltered guy trying it for the first time. He was seasoned had the technique and behavior ofan old pro. | |

| Battling Siki went from champ to drunk to dead in two years or so.
Sonny Liston went from ranked contender to Leotis Martin knocking him out to dead in a year or so.

Cough Mr. Ronald Wright Cough How so? I think he was an idiot out of the ring on the business side of the sport but curious on your in-ring take I can't. I have an indefensible and near irrational hatred for all things Mr. Ronald Wright. I am not a reliable source. Having said that he beat a shot and part time Tito, a guy at 154 who could never handle the weight in Shane, a guy in Ike who hadn't beaten a top guy in five years and who was two divisions over his best one. His most meaningful wins are over Bronko McCart. God I HATE that guy!

Sonny Liston went from ranked contender to Leotis Martin knocking him out to dead in a year or so. Liston fought for five years after Ali embarrassed him. Siki, on the other hand was a notorious party animal for quite a while. What a beast of a physical specimen he was.

| Hatton never took care of himself between fights though. For gossakes part of his whole image was being fat during the "off season." I think it really started there. Eating too much, drinking too much, etc. | |
