| Everyone knows that he's overweight but if he were to lose that weight and fight at 205 how good do you think he'd be? |

| With his skillset it's hard to say. His striking is sloppy and he really relies on that big overhand right to change a fight. His ground game is great but how will it match up with the guys at the top of 205 like Rashad who would fence rape him for fifteen minutes, Shogun who would light him up just as bad as Dos Santos, or Machida who would keep kicking him in the body when he saw him wince like that. Honestly I think he would lose alot of what allows him the success he's already had if he were to drop the weight. | |

| I think Roy Nelson is overrated.
If he didnt have that big belly smothering his opponents while he laid on them, he'd suck. | |

| Nelson would be not god at 205. He is partly decent at HW because of his obesity. | |

| Dos Santos must suck than to not be able to finish a guy that sucks as bad as some are claiming Roy is. If anything else Roy Nelson is tough as nails. | |

| If you suck for not finishing a guy than JDS sucks donkey blood out of a dead monkeys balls. Roy is proven way better than him and that extends to his natural comfort zone of 205. | |

| 1)the question of Roy at 205 is not outrageous cause he could clearly lose a bunch of weight if he really tried.
2)Roy has proven a pretty good heavy despite being the much smaller man in most fights. Sure he uses his belly fat well when in top position, but in every other area that gut is a hindrance. In most fights he looks like a fat little kid out there.
3)I have to think he'd fare pretty well at 205. For one, he'd still be pretty big and fat, the belly would still be there, he'd actually have a size adv in some fights, and 2 he has legit ground skills. Would Rua or Machida beat him? yeah probably, but those dudes are the two best 205ers in the world.
sure it will prob never happen, but we deal with never to happen hypotheticals quite often on this board so I don't see why this topic would be viewed as unwarranted.
