These kind of people/stories are like cheap whiskey to the media. They drink a little, it turns into a lot and they start acting all kinds of dumb.

Can someone just set a bomb in that church and kill them all already. I swear that I could not control myself if that was my kid who they were protesting. I would kill every person who protested that day. I am not kidding every single one would die.

Hate groups using religion as a front... Not very original is it? Westboro has been spreading their hate message for decades... What's sad is their fellowship far exceeds 50 people. If you want to see exactly what's wrong in this country, head to one of their many daily protests!

Apparently the church this pastor used to be a part of in Germany expelled him for stealing their cash. They condemn the plan to burn as well.
Westboro had their own Qur'an burning in 2008.

One could argue that our Constitution needs to be heavily amended to deal with people like this!

I think that we need to start using common sense in this country again.

You could, but it's hard to fix stupid. People here would act crazier than these crazies over any resolution to amend our freedom thing also.

Most people have common sense but the people who are in the media and the people who get on TV make the rest of us look bad. I think 90% of these problems are started by the media. If they would not report on this shit then it wouldnt be a big deal and they wouldnt be doing it. Right?

I'm not sure that it's "perfectly legitimate". I'm all for freedom of speech, the guy can say whatever he likes about Islam (clearly he's an ignorant moron), but is there really a place in civil societies for book burnings?

I wonder if someone will misread their sign, and there will be a bunch of burnt asians sometime soon.

Bird you don't get it. I am the first to say GW Bush handled post-9/11 wrong. If he would have dropped a small, low-yield nuclear device on Medina and given the whole of Persia, Arabia, etc. 30 days to deliver Osama bin Laden, we would have him already. If they didn't deliver, BOOM! Hit Mecca. After that you can start whacking other targets and nobody is going to say a fucking thing except "Please?! We are fucking sorry! Don't vaporize us and our religion based on the words of a man who raped, killed, plundered, and committed pedophilia?"
This whole, "winning of hearts and minds" doesn't work when they have a hand out on one side and a bomb behind their back in the other. And nobody try and give me your shit, I don't hate Muslim's. I don't see the appeal of the religion, but I suspect a lot of people wouldn't either if they actually had options in those countries too. At least in my country, YOU get to pick your religion and have that right defended by the most powerful military on the planet.

You're a disgusting Christian who believes Muslims are savages, which justifies this pointless war. "Just fuckin nuke da middle east" Who says that, really? Forget burning books, lets get back to burning what really mattered.

It's a loser of an argument in my view. Freedom of expression only makes sense if it allows expression one finds distasteful.

Yup., and flag burnings and Klan rallies and other things that make your skin crawl. That's sort of the point.
