Jack Britton-Three time undisputed welter champion and HOFer. Ranked #3,3, and 10 welter by the above.

Lew Tendler-Though never a champion, he was a HOFer. Ranked #9,12 and 16 at lightweight by the above.

Leonard retired as champion at 28. He fought the men above 25 times and went 19-3-3.

Just couldn't get by Benny and then he moved up and lodt a title fight at 147 to Mickey Walker.

I don't know of anything Barney does better. Of the three men I think Canzoneri had the best chance because he was so unorthodox. Benny was simply the best orthodox fighter in and around lightweight I can think of. So to beat him it takes an unorthodox approach which Canzoneri certainly had. Maybe Henry Armstrong or a Sweet Pea?

Armstrong beats him IMO

and god Whitaker vs Leonard is such a great mythical fake match up i get shivers imagining it

Honestly, I've heard about Benny Leonard all my life but I've never seen him fight. My search for Leonard fights is on.
